Job Description

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Product and Technology Transfer Manager, are to: 

 

  • Manage the Process Technology pilot plant operations and provide leadership to pilot plant pharmaceutical operators and any assigned staff scientists;
  • Act as subject matter expert on transfers of third party manufactured products to Myerstown and new product and/or technology transfers from Bayer Innovation and Development;
  • Author, execute, and lead protocols and transfer plans aimed towards the full-scale development and process validation of formerly mentioned development and transfer activities;
  • Present technological advancements/developments and detail the impact that such will have to the site and organization unit to the site leadership team;
  • Act as a consultant to manufacturing by assisting in their planning process, reviewing possible solutions, and presenting recommendations for actions, this also includes assisting with deviation investigations and the development and execution of effective corrective action/preventative actions;
  • Establish technical information exchanges with Innovation and Development staff to define and identify technical resources for Myerstown;
  • Review and approve documentation prepared by Process Technology staff related to pilot plant activities such as (but not limited to) stability batches and pilot plant technical reports;
  • Provide leadership and direction to other Process Technology staff on an as-needed basis;
  • Be aware that other duties may be assigned.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline with at least eight years of progressive technical/scientific experience, or master’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline with at least six years of progressive technical/scientific experience previously noted or Ph.D. with at least four years of progressive technical/scientific experience previously noted;
  • At least three years of supervisory experience;
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, management, communication, and decision-making skills;
  • A track record demonstrating the skills needed to lead, manage, coach, and develop employees and teams;
  • A track record of thorough, accurate technical document authoring skills;
  • An excellent understanding of the unit operations associated with the manufacture of solid and liquid dose manufacturing processes;
  • Solid understanding and applicability of statistical analysis;
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the scientific aspects of the company’s activities and apply that knowledge to the company’s goals while able to explain and provide recommendations of project results to all levels of personnel;
  • The flexibility to work in a team-oriented environment or independent environment depending on project needs.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Degree in Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry.
