Job Description

The appointee will support all aspects of academic activities through teaching, research, and consultancy; actively contribute to the planning, formulation and implementation of the College and School’s strategic direction / initiatives and development; take a leading role and participate in programme development and validation exercises; take up responsibilities in academic and departmental administration and clinical teaching; lead and supervise the work of academic staff involved in prescribed courses / programmes; guide the College in enhancing its visibility and strengthening its local and international connections; build and develop an extensive network of contacts and colleagues to develop and enhance College market position and reputation; provide leadership / take the initiative in promoting good teaching and collaborative research; perform scholarly activities; facilitate the development and enhancement of the discipline through quality research and publications and raise the level of consultancies in respective discipline(s); oversee and perform academic activities including academic advising, examination and assessment, student recruitment, committee works, whole person development activities of students; undertake professional service to external professional body / organization and provide public services to the community.

Applicants should possess a PhD degree / Professional Doctorate in a relevant discipline with not less than 10 years (for Professor) or 7 years (for Associate Professor) of substantial relevant experience in teaching and research in the tertiary education sector, programme development and leadership; a valid practicing certificate of Registered Radiographer (Therapeutic) (Part I registration) issued by the Supplementary Medical Professions Council or eligible for registration in Hong Kong; an international reputation in high quality scholarship and research outputs and publications in journals with high impact in the relevant discipline; and a demonstrated solid teaching record.

Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
