Job Description

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Prepare, track and adjust a multi-year project plan, detailing timelines and budget for up to 10 projects between D1 and PCC as well as develop timeline and/or resource-optimized scenarios and align activities in close interaction with other functions accordingly
  • Support the Scientific Project Leader (SPL) in setting up the (operational) project goals and in servicing preclinical governance with continuous oversight of project status as well as in providing an environment to facilitate the development of high performing teams
  • Be part of the core team (at least post-D2) and lead project-related activities and meetings in alignment with the SPL as well as maintain project file storage and prepare agenda and meeting notes for project team meetings; act as deputy (m/f/d) for the SPL as required
  • Identify and anticipate issues, e.g. related to project progression, technical challenges or budget, and lead mitigation and resolution efforts as required for defined issues in alignment with the SPL as well as document project progress and status and ensure consistency, correctness and completeness of project information in the relevant reporting systems
  • Establish and track project budget and resources (internal or external), be responsible for the quality of the forecasting and management of the budget as well as work closely together with Controlling (forecasting and budget), Procurement (sourcing to CROs and academic labs), Legal (contracting) and other stakeholders in R&D and beyond
  • Review proposals for project team compositions and suggest changes as well as ensure sufficient and timely flow of information within the project team and build relationships in- and outside of the project team to enhance effective communication
  • Analyze project and portfolio performance data in comparison to industry standards, develop meaningful metrics and provide input to governance committees and PCR LT as well as support the development, implementation and maintenance of project and portfolio management systems and the quality assurance of key project data
  • Organize, facilitate and minute cross-functional meetings and meetings with external partners incl. follow-up on decisions and action points as well as (for key responsibilities), seek for process optimization, implementation and compliance and drive communication, knowledge transfer and collaboration within PCR and with its stakeholders

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

  • MD or PhD in life sciences or equivalent scientific background with several years of relevant professional and/or academic experience incl. pharmaceutical industry R&D track record
  • Experience in some of the key project-related functions (e.g. Research, Translational Sciences, Clinical Development, CMC) and profound knowledge of the drug discovery process
  • Strong project management skills and experience as cross-functional project leader (m/f/d), combined with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Excellent communication skills and networking abilities with external and internal stakeholders as well as with people at all levels of the organization
  • Good overview on current developments in healthcare, combined with advanced knowledge in data management and data analysis and the ability to collect and analyze complex data sets
  • Strong personal drive and curiosity to explore and implement new ways of working
  • Willingness to embrace change and the ability to effectively work in an international and multicultural environment
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written; German advantageous
