Job Description
Eaton’s Crouse-Hinds Division is currently seeking a Quality Manager to join our team. This position is based at the Syracuse NY facility. Relocation assistance is offered for this position. Position Overview: As an integral part of the site leadership team the Quality Manager will lead the definition, execution, and deployment of the strategic Quality Plan in conjunction with the plant leadership team. The Quality manager will execute and administer plant-wide Quality Management systems Assurance, Quality Control, and continuous improvement. As such, the leader in this role will promote employee engagement while also fostering a culture that drives inclusion and diversity throughout the site, as well. In this function you will: Develop and maintain an effective work force of quality assurance/engineering personnel to facilitate accomplishments of quality assurance goals. Support and foster inclusion and diversity practices and planning while aligning strategic vision of the site to Eaton’s overall cultural diversity programs initiatives. Develop recommend and implement inspection and sampling techniques, quality control plans or process control procedures that will ensure production of acceptable products. Direct and assist in conducting research on product defects in conjunction with engineering personnel and recommend modifications to meet product quality standards. Build relationships with the technical engineering assistants or suppliers when necessary to confer on and help alleviate specific quality problems. Review customer complaints/job problems or supplier problems to determine validity and initiate corrective action. Counsel and influence front-line leaders and hourly employees to build a high-performance winning culture and an inclusive environment. Provide quality assurance expertise to materials management personnel engaged in the procurement of raw materials, supplies and equipment. Coordinate all applicable quality alerts and inform all stakeholders. Drive continuous improvement on the shop floor, including opportunities to improve Quality, Productivity, and cost reduction Fosters an environment that promotes Eaton’s goals, philosophies, and encourages continuous improvement through participation and teamwork #LI-MD1 Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution. Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a Quality function within a manufacturing environment Minimum one (1) year experience managing people and/or project teams Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree from an accredited institution Minimum Five (5) years of Quality experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Minimum Three (3) years leadership or management experience in quality, manufacturing, or engineering. Knowledge of machining, assembly operations, problem solving, gauging, process capability, SPC, APQP, and quality management systems ISO/9001:2015 Knowledge and experience with AIAG Core Tools (SPC, PFMEA, PPAP, APQP, MSA, QSA). ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Quality Manager – Operational Excellence (CQM-OE), Six Sigma Greenbelt (CSSGB), ATEX, IECEx and In Metro certification audits We provide benefits that are industry competitive and focused on employee well-being.
