Your responsibilities

• Applying excellent and systematic designing methodology in the product development and ensuring the design quality, creating innovation idea to solve technical problems.
• Involving in excellent multi-department communication and international cooperation skills, on time and quality for completing related tasks during project.
• Having technical and scientific proficiency and leadership skills like demonstrating solid technical proficiency in own competence area by performing a variety of technology/engineering assignments, mainly in research and development (R&D) projects, which is demonstrating independent ability to recognize problems and provide input to solutions, actively following the scientific discussions in own competence area and contributes independently.
• Giving technology direction to understand the key business drivers for ABB for making judgments and contribute to results.
• Innovating and creating like contributing to R&D projects with own, creative ideas, proposing follow-up projects and activities within own technical area based on new ideas.
• Working on projects, processes and tools as a solid R&D project member and contributing with experience as project or sub-project leader, ensuring alignment with assigned targets (time, cost, quality) and coordinates activities, demonstrating sound understanding of, and actively applies, R&D processes and tools.
• Working with R&D context like maintaining awareness of state-of-art technology, as well as ABB products and technologies, identifying and understanding technical drivers for R&D projects in own area, understanding what creating customer value in own R&D projects and project portfolio of own organization and working to improve operations and increasing customer satisfaction according to incoming requests and providing consulting services to business operations and customers.
• Involving in knowledge transfer like participating constructively in working teams, sharing own technical/scientific knowledge in own projects and supporting colleagues in applying processes and tools for ensuring timely and high-quality results, showing solid documentation skills and writing technical reports independently.
• Having network and visibility like participating in networks in own area, including relevant Engineering networks, in order to further knowledge in targeted area of expertise, intellectual property (IP) and risk management has a basic understanding of the importance of IP for the ABB business, contributing to IP discussions and developing project clearance reports. Identifies risks in R&D projects.

Your background

• Must have BS in electronic/electrical engineering with min. 5 years of experience or MSc in electronic/electrical engineering with minimum 2 years’ experience in R&D is required.
• Must be familiar with design validation procedure of new product, familiar with the commonly used engineering materials like plastic and metallic and related manufacturing / processing.
• Must have knowledge of relationship of standards and products and drafting verification program according to standards.
• Proficiency in CAD, e.g. AutoCAD, UG or Pro-E, and MS office is required.
• Knowing the simulations such as structure and thermal, etc. applying the simulations in the design is a plus.
• Being capable of reading and expressing technical solutions in English is a plus.
• Must have good communication and teamwork skills and foreign enterprises R&D experience is preferred.
