Job Description

We are seeking experienced Research Scientists and Staff Research Scientists to join our Automation Runtime Systems Research Group in Princeton, NJ. The right person will have a mix of research experience in signal processing, physics and optimization as well as a passion for industry!

The Challenge

In the role as Research Scientist, you will:

  • Contribute to research projects to develop novel technologies.
  • Advance the state-of-the-art, including generating patents and publications in top journals and conferences.
  • Utilize our technology to solve real-world problems in industry.
  • Present our innovative technology to customers and acquire new businesses
  • Fast prototyping, feasibility studies, specification and implementation of product components.
  • Work with customers to understand algorithm requirements and deliver solutions.

The Candidate

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Ph. D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or Physics.
  • Research Scientists must have a minimum of 5 years of related experience. Staff Research Scientists must have a minimum of 7 years of related experience.
  • Strong theoretical and practical background in Signal Processing, Physics and Optimization required.
  • Graduate research, fellowship or internship experience in signal processing in acoustics, condition based monitoring.
  • Proven track record developing new research ideas as demonstrated by a strong publication record and early developments to the level of a working system prototype.
  • Good knowledge of tools and languages typically used to support simulation (incl. C/C++, Matlab, Simulink, etc.)
  • Background in machine learning and python
  • Deep Knowledge of math, probability, statistics and algorithms
  • Experience researching and implementing appropriate ML algorithms and tools
  • Development experience on edge devices such as Arduinos
  • Knowledge or previous involvement writing funding proposals for research grants
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal & written) skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a growing, dynamic team
  • Real world problem solving and a hands-on, can-do mentality
Successful candidate must be able to work with controlled technology in accordance with US Export Control Law.
