                                                           Design Verification Engineer (Emulation)

 

THE ROLE:

SCBU EMU team is part of SCBU design verification team and be responsible for enabling and supporting emulation programs.

 

THE PERSON:

Has an intimate knowledge of x86 PC/Server architectures, PC system busses and be a highly motivated, innovative individual with a keen interest in finding and resolving silicon and platform failures.  This position will collaborate with many internal teams to develop test plans for emulation use and excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Development and execution of x86 based system and silicon level test plans for discrete GPU emulation environment and create / improve automation capabilities for system and silicon features

  • Mapping chip designs into hardware emulator platforms and environments
  • Develop / execute tests to ensure functional correctness of hardware emulation models prior to customer release
  • Support emulation program execution with debug on hardware emulator models
  • Develop emulation infrastructure components (i.e. transactors, debug monitors, etc...)
  • The individual will pioneer hardware/software design improvements to the emulation environment to expedite test capabilities
  • Define innovative tests, experiments, diagnostics and analysis procedures with the goal of finding GPU infrastructure issues in SOC boot code, VBIOS, Software Drivers, etc…

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • BS or above degree with 6+ years on ASIC design/verification/emulation, 3+ years on hardware emulation
  • Experience working with x86 platform hardware and software
  • PCIe bus protocol and PCI enumeration process
  • C/C++ working knowledge for coding and debug
  • Knowledge of x86 system architecture
  • Experience with design verification methodologies 
  • Verilog working knowledge and experience
  • Familiarity with design flows including emulation, verification and bring up
  • Familiarity with hardware emulation systems (Veloce, ZeBu and/or Palladium)
  • Familiar with unix/linux and scripts (shell, ruby, tcl, perl, python etc.)
  • Computer graphics architecture is a plus
  • Experience with System Verilog is a plus
  • Strong cross organizational communication skills
  • Highly collaborative

  • Ability to cope with daily interruptions
  • Experience working in a challenging engineering environment

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor or Master, major in EE, CS or related area
