How will you make an impact?

Ensures the long-term success of the business by equipping the site with processes, systems, and behaviors to enable associates to adapt to the changing business conditions. Facilitates and leads team efforts to identify key improvement opportunities and develops systems to sustain continuous improvement process.

What will you do?

  • Work with area continuous improvement team to determine strategic direction and needs of the business unit, and align continuous improvement initiatives based on these needs.
  • Develops, implements, and relentlessly drives PPI/Lean initiatives throughout the business unit site.
  • Implements immediate and long term identified solutions quickly, such that they have a significant & meaningful impact on the site, are sustained and solve the root cause.
  • Manages the project teams and the entire project life cycle (expectations made clear, holds other accountable, achieves set milestones, detailed communication on project status, and meets goals/objectives) to increase efficiency and accuracy and drive out waste from all areas of the organization [may extend across multiple sites].
  • Works with area managers, site personnel, and other sites to identify areas of improvement/waste reduction and to spread PPI methodology.
  • Teaches PPI tools and methodology (e.g. Root Cause Analysis, Visual Management, etc.) and coaches/mentors project teams while modeling those behaviors.
  • Responsible for achieving and tracking PPI metrics, including financial savings, to establish targets/budgets and regularly reports out on PPI system health and future plans to senior leadership.

How will you get here?

Education

B.S. / B.A. degree, preferably in a technical or engineering field, from an accredited College or University.

Lean Six Sigma/PPI Lean Certification preferred.

Experience

  • A minimum of two (2) years technical leadership role in a quality, process improvement, finance, or engineering position that has resulted in significant efficiency savings and cost reductions.
  • Three to five years’ experience leading and facilitate teams with the proven ability to coach, drive, and resolve conflict.

Equivalency: Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Works on issues of moderate to high complexity in regards to compliance of processes and product within manufacturing and support areas.
  • Lead projects of moderate to high complexity in scope and compliance-related challenges to implement cost- saving and efficiencies in compliance with the federals regulations.
  • Excellent understanding of quality and regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry, including pharmaceutical cGMP.
  • Knowledge in process improvement tools and implementation (Kaizen, Gemba, 5’s, Fishbone)
  • Strong financial acumen.
  • Self-starter, mature, independent and dependable.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced results orientated environment.
  • Effective time management, multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external suppliers.
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
