YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Director Contract Strategy & Analysis, are to: 

 

  • Develop and refine contracting strategy for Specialty Pharmacies, Specialty Distributors, wholesaler, and retail pharmacy channels for launch and in-line products, including discount and rebate agreements;
  • Train Account Managers on contracting strategy;
  • Receive, prioritize, and respond to RFPs and other bid requests submitted directly or through Account Managers;
  • Drive financial analyses and pre-deal scenarios to develop bids and negotiation strategy;
  • Inform Business Units about contract negotiations and obtaining approval of pricing decisions and negotiation sequencing;
  • Develop presentations and obtain Executive Pricing Committee approval of contracting strategies and individual bids;
  • Negotiate directly with key customers, drive strategy and close deals that maximize Bayer net revenue and portfolio product access;
  • Lead the redline process to commit agreed upon deal terms to executed contracts.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Deep understanding of the U.S. Healthcare environment;
  • Understands organizations affecting market access, business models, approach to formulary management, and key personnel;
  • In-depth knowledge of specialty pharmacy, specialty distributor, wholesaler, retail pharmacy
  • Interest in and knowledge of public policy affecting payers and pharma industry;
  • More than ten years’ experience in US Pharma / biotech / healthcare industry, with experience contracting;
  • Experience building financial models to develop robust deal/no deal scenarios;
  • Experience organized customer contracting strategy and representing US specific comprehensive market access strategies;
  • Customer-facing experience through Account Management or other relevant negotiation experience;
  • Executive presence working with internal leadership and customers; the ability to push back on unreasonable demands while maintaining respectful partnerships;
  • Competencies: collaboration, business insight, customer focus, strategic focus

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Master’s degree.
