Job Description

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Scientist, are to: 

 

  • Design, develop, implement and execute technical strategy required for marker-trait associations and genetic innovation for the wheat pipeline and operations improvements aligned with the overarching strategy within region;
  • Support/Lead key projects on implementation of Precision Breeding Technical innovations for wheat within region;
  • Integrate multi-function teams across North America and partners across other world regions (LATAM, EMEA and APAC) to support innovation projects for Precision Breeding, with a key focus on driving genetic gain and product performance through digital transformation and new technology development and deployment;
  • Support the Health Safety & Environment, Compliance, Business Conduct and Human Rights policies and culture
  • Location can be based in Chesterfield, MO or Woodland, CA.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Ph.D. with at least four years of relevant experience, Master’s degree with at least eight years of relevant experience, Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of relevant experience;
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in cross-functional and cross-cultural teams to achieve common goals;
  • Demonstrated experience leading and influencing activities of cross functional teams without direct reporting relationships;
  • Ability to lead and influence key stakeholders through challenges and opportunities;
  • Facilitates solutions;
  • Results orientation with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects/priorities simultaneously;
  • Experience with genetic/genomic analyses and with defining marker-trait associations in order to enable marker-assisted selection for native traits;
  • Understanding of state-of-the-art genotyping and DNA sequencing solutions and associated data analysis strategies;
  • Familiarity with and a demonstrated ability to perform data analysis with large datasets.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Ph.D. or Masters in Agricultural Science, Pathology, Genetics, Crop Science, or Product Management;
  • Experience with wheat.

 

Domestic relocation may be avialable for this role.
