JOB DESCRIPTION - SENIOR LMS CONSULTANT FOR NORTH AMERICA

 

Organization

Oracle License Management Services (LMS) is the established authority on Oracle licensing policy. We provide Oracle customers with an open, transparent, and definitive assessment of their compliance position. We achieve this with an engagement process that's designed to help customers measure actual usage versus their contractual entitlements, and to address the operational and financial risks associated with any unauthorized deployments.

The strategic goal of Oracle LMS is to consistently deliver best-practice audit experiences to our customers. This is done by developing more trusted working relationships with organizations and delivering an efficient audit process that, upon completion, leaves them in a stronger position for the future. It’s an approach designed to inspire a more proactive form of license management and to help customers validate the effectiveness of their internal controls, and through them, to maintain a compliant position.

 

 

Scope & Responsibilities

• Works as part of the LMS North America team and reports to LMS License Director.

• Identifies and qualifies customers where license compliance needs to be assessed and coordinates with other LMS teams, as needed.

• Owns the LMS engagement process from initiation to solutions on compliance issues and closure, working at different levels of the organization, as needed, from C-suite to technical staff.

• Measures the usage of Oracle products in customer’s environment, using the relevant services and tools and respecting the Contractual License Grant and its definitions.

• Performs thorough analysis of the collected information regarding customers’ systems.

• Produces project plans (meeting) notes and formal written license engagement reports.

• Presents findings in a structured manner to the customers.

• Maintains an up to date knowledge of relevant Oracle products, practices, procedures and license policies.

• Acts as a leading authority in Oracle License Management and compliance domains for Oracle customers.

• Articulates Oracle’s licensing practices to both internal and external parties.

• Builds and maintains relationships across various Oracle LOB’s, as needed.

• Generates additional reports as required by the LMS management. 

• When needed, adapts working schedule to accommodate time zones. 

 

 Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent combination of studies and  experience in business and/or technical.

• At least 5 years of work experience.

• Customer facing experience (IT industry is an advantage).

• Understanding of enterprise environments and three-tier architectures.

• Familiarity with Oracle products and/or services gained from an Oracle environment is a plus.

• Experience in auditing practices is a plus.

• Fluent English.

 

 

 

!|!Delivers license management services and programs to customers and partners, in order to govern, manage and promote awareness of the proper use and distribution of Oracle solutions. Provides expertise, advisement and tools that aid in managing compliance with Oracle*s contractual agreements, while providing value-added services to enhance satisfaction.

Evaluates assigned segment to identify accounts/areas where compliance needs to be assessed and ensured. Executes license management engagements/programs with customers and partners, following defined standard processes, that aid in the proper management and distribution of Oracle products. Develops expertise in contractual agreements, licensing policies, technical verification, compliance processes and other relevant areas, using this to provide analysis and license management advisement. Works with sales, customers and partners to ensure compliance issues are resolved, while preserving business relationships. Drives the project planning, implementation, control and communication of assigned engagements/programs. Partners with other Oracle organizations in planning and conducting engagements/programs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex, needing independent judgment. Successful management of multiple projects. Ability to analyze issues and formulate relevant business solutions. Exhibits cross-lob collaboration and strong communication skills in successfully performing job responsibilities. University degree or equivalent combination of studies and experience. Typically 5 years of related experience to include 3-5 years customer facing experience in IT/asset management consulting, audit or customer management and understanding of the software industry is preferred.
