JOB PURPOSE

To review and understand “As Is” gross margin components and processes and to systematically drive the design and implement detailed revised processes for greater transparency, efficiency, accuracy, timeliness and control of gross margin related information (actuals, budget and forecast) processes, To embed the changed processes into BAU  and outcomes across multiple work streams in order to meet all stakeholder requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee the planning of resources, activities to deliver the project in a timely way supporting detailed work streams (set out below) 
  • Communicate progress / issues to working groups / Steerco and senior management in a clear and timely manner 
  • Work across the global business both at region and centrally linking all areas of the business but with particular focus on Merchandising, Allocation and Planning (“MAP”), Supply Chain and Finance 
  • Develop and manage project scope 
  • Utilise resources within the business to support work streams making sure the teams remain focused on the overall goals and deliverables 
  • Design programmes for transformation and change management
  • Manage transformation milestones, resource planning, and tracking
  • Maintain integrated view of all projects in transformation program, including realisation, risks and benefits capture at the initiative level
  • Coordinate the development of risk mitigation recommendations
  • Plan and forecast the resource requirements needed to support the transformation, and assist the business in planning for execution 
  • Ensure inter-project communication and integrated execution while managing the pace of decision-making
  • Make recommendations on initiative prioritisation
  • Provide methodologies, tools, and processes to the initiative teams
  • Provide and coordinate training to execute the program effectively
  • Provide expert delivery support, as required (focused on integration oversight, portfolio, critical path and resources)
  • Identification and pro-active management of inter-dependencies between initiatives
  • Successful delivery of projects as required
PERSONAL PROFILE
  • Strong knowledge of management  and financial accounting for inventory supported by appropriate finance qualifications
  • Have a reputation for delivery that reinforces the sense of urgency that must be conveyed
  • Possess strong data and analytical skills, which are necessary to track the projects and portfolio
  • Be personally disciplined to maintain absolute commitment and consistency in tracking and reporting, and have the authoritative presence to hold the initiative leaders to the same high standards
  • Have an ability to empathise with work stream sponsors and leaders to ensure their willing interaction with the programme
  • Experience in tracking and reporting on complex projects and eliciting from teams the factual (performance) data and the expert opinion (experience) on how their project is progressing.
  • Identify the training, development, and coaching needs of project participants and ensure that education and support resources are available
  • Maintain an awareness of the interdependencies between work streams and projects and be capable of assessing the implications of any changes, delays, or shifts in priority. 
  • Responsibility for ensuring that information is shared and appropriate dialogues take place when changes occur
  • Understand the Change Execution Risk Framework and the patterns in the risk profile at different stages in a project life cycle
  • Experience in project delivery may be required
  • Specialist knowledge and skills for luxury retail preferred
