YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Project Scheduler, are to: 

 

  • Be responsible for the scheduling/planning tasks in strategic projects or in a portfolio of related projects;
  • Collaborate with Project Controls personnel, who is responsible for the overall scheduling effort and who in turn is supervised by the project manager, who is accountable for overall project success and compliance with Bayer procedures, guidelines and best practices;
  • Determinate and execute project controlling tasks independently;
  • Be responsible for the development and maintenance of scheduling tools and knowledge under supervision of the Group Head Project Services Planning, who is accountable for all project controlling activities within the organization;
  • Be responsible for the scheduling/planning tasks which includes scheduling, (resource) planning, progress monitoring, monitoring of resource utilization, forecasting and reporting;
  • Supervise Project Controlling Specialists I/II and Scheduler/Planners I/II;
  • Develop subject matter training material and train project controllers, project managers, engineers and other stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering or another relevant field with at least eight  years of experience in Project Management and Engineering OR master's in Engineering or another Project Management related fields with at least six years of experience in Project Management and Controlling OR associate degree in Engineering or another Project Management-related fields with at least 10 years of experience in Project Management and Controlling;
  • Expert knowledge of scheduling and progress tracking including rules of credit, earned value analysis and critical path method;
  • Excellent knowledge using Primavera P6 software and experience using MS Project;
  • Field experience for capital projects;
  • Experience with integrating contractor schedules into master schedules;
  • Willingness to travel within the Bayer sites in North America and Latin America on a regular basis (25 – 50%) when working on projects outside of the hub areas;
  • High degree of interpersonal skills and ability to work with a diverse set of stakeholders, to resolve conflicts in a constructive spirit and to communicate requirements and results to project contributors effectively.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • PMI certification;
  • Knowledge of Good manufacturing practice (GMP) requirements.
