This is a good opportunity to work in Intel NPG (Network Platform Group), as a Senior Software Platform Application Engineer (PAE) focus to the emerging market of Edge Computing from 5G and Telecommunication angle and across Cloud and IOT. The work scope is to provide Intel Edge software solution enabling and technical support on Intel Platforms in P.R.China key customers including Telco OEMs and Operators, Cloud Service Providers (CSP), IOT industry, and other valuable customers. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
-- Handling Intel NPG Edge Software and Platform reference solutions (OpenNESS, CERA, etc.), and the Packet Processing Software building blocks, including Data-Plane Development Kit (DPDK), QuickAssist Technology (QAT), HyperScan (Pattern Matching), OVS-DPDK, FD.io, Virtualization/NFV technologies, etc., to be the expert of them.
-- Working closely with customers to understand their Edge system and software architecture, work together with Intel Sales and Marketing teams (SMG) to influence customers' decision making on Adopting and Optimizing their solutions on Intel Platforms and Software building blocks, by in-depth technical promotions, discussions, and joint software evaluations.
-- Handling Intel Platform architecture, the low-level software (OS/Driver in Linux) to enable customer Edge platform designs, and the application usage models, across Telco Edge, Cloud Edge and IOT Edge, to accelerate Edge/Network performance and capabilities, reduce TCO, increase Intel Platforms' stickiness and ramp Intel revenue.
-- Working closely with customers to understand their software issues, debug the issues, and address the solution to solve these issues.
-- Working together with Intel NPG marketing and engineering teams on internal tasks, including Proof of Concept (PoC) setup, performance benchmarking aligning with customer requirements, and feedback P.R.China customers' requests to influence Intel Edge Software and Platform reference solutions and NPG software building blocks' roadmap.
-- Delivering technical training to SMG to have them well equipped on technical, also providing backend technical support to SMG's Technical Marketing Engineers and other teams in their customer designs using Intel Edge Software and Platform reference designs and the software building blocks.

Qualifications

You should possess a Master or a Bachelor of Science degree in Software, Computer, Electronic or Communication Engineering or relevant studies with more than 7 years of working experience in software system designing. Additional qualifications include:
-- Expert of Intel IA software with more than 5 years software development experiences, familiarity with Intel software tools, performance benchmarking and tuning technique.
-- In-depth understanding of DPDK with work experiences on it would be a big value add.
-- Familiarity with Linux kernel and driver development with more than 5 years of relevant development experience on Linux.
-- Familiarity of MEC (Multiaccess Edge Computing) and the work experience on commercial MEP (Multiaccess Edge Platform) development would be a big value add.
-- Good knowledge on Intel Architecture (IA) and general processor micro-architecture, i.e. instruction, pipeline, cache, memory.
-- Good knowledge on Intel Virtualization Technologies, and VM, Container, will be a big value add.
-- Good knowledge on Cloud and Telco orchestration, management and control, like Openstack, K8S, with work experiences will be a big value add.
-- Good knowledge on Telco, Cloud and IOT system architecture, applications and protocols, like 5G RAN (Base Station), 5G UPF, vRouter, OVS, Load Balancing, IDS/IPS, TCP/IP, Ethernet/WiFi, etc.
-- Good abilities of on-site technical supporting on customers' software, including OS and/or driver, middle-ware and application software, on code migration, tuning, benchmarking, and debugging, under Linux environment.
-- Capability of leading a virtual team on specific software product/task.
-- Fluent speaking and writing of English.
-- Good communication skills with people and good sense of team work.
-- Ability to work independently, be proactive, multitask effectively.
-- Availability to travel.
