What is the Role?
The Senior Strategic Account Director provides account leadership for the clients business to create and sustain a long-term relationship that results in generating additional business with the client and profitable revenue growth.  Applies significant business development and product/solution expertise in developing strategy and enabling global teams to execute effectively and maximize revenue growth.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Excellence – Is the recognized authority for the client’s account at SDL – has global reach and impact on the strategic goals of the company.  Provides leadership and works collaboratively across sales team globally to contribute to sales plans that helps to ensure the clients’ needs are well understood and revenue potential is maximized.  Works cross functionally to proactively drive customer satisfaction and resolve issues.  Develops and executes account plans that address strategic, global and complex factors.
  • Delivers Quality, Value, and Results – Proactively identifies issues and opportunities related to the client based on in-depth analysis of internal (e.g., product roadmap) and external (e.g., market/business forecast) influences.  Works cross functionally to contribute this analysis and influence short and long-term plans (e.g., sales/account planning, product development, product management).  Demonstrates value of solutions to the client using a combination of customer knowledge, product/solution expertise, understanding of the market and expert consultative skills.
  • Functional Excellence – Recognized as an internal and external expert and thought leader, shares expertise and knowledge to build knowledge of the clients account across the sales function.  Represents SDL externally to establish SDL as an industry leader.  Is a key contributor to company strategy related to the client.
  • Relationship Building – Partners across the organization to build strategic client relationships that help to drive long term success.  Trusted by internal stakeholders and executives to provide strategic insight and direction in the vertical/solution area.  Leverages external networks to help identify sales opportunities/leads.

Requirements

  • This position is based in the Seattle WA area.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Language Services business.  
  • Experience selling to or managing the well-known high tech client’s business is a plus.
  • Proven track record of consistently exceeding targets and meeting company objectives.
  • Demonstrated success in developing new business within existing accounts. 
  • Strong skills in leading business development engagements that have extended sales teams (partners / professional services / presales / portfolio product experts / marketing / sales support / customer success).  
  • University or Bachelor Degree required
