SDL is a major player with in the Global Content Technologies & Language solutions with industry leading products. We are looking to recruit a Solution Architect within the APAC Professional Services team based out of Bangalore, India.  

 

Professional Services work with SDL clients to provide both Training and Consulting. We deliver training, expert advice and services on the implementation and best practice use of SDL products including SDL Tridion DX ( Sites & Docs ) & SDL Enterprise Products. Projects requiring Technical Consulting range in size from 1 month to 12+months. Training includes user training, technical training and functional training with courses lasting up to 1 week.

 

The Solution Architect is responsible for providing on and off site solution support to SDL customers during the full lifecycle of implementation and upgrade projects.  The project work is varied, ranging from fulfilling the overall technical lead to providing small ad-hoc consultancy on SDL best practice.  A key objective is to ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high quality technical consultancy and training in terms of the level of knowledge, experience, documentation and code.

 

This role requires a self-starting capable team player with business and IT skills and the ability to effectively communicate with senior business contacts as well as the technical team. They must be able to work in a professional manner with clients and at all times remain focused on key Professional Services goals, primarily brand protection, financial effectiveness and client satisfaction.

 

The candidate must be highly organized, customer focused and commercially aware. 
 
Key Responsibilities

 

• Develop and implement solutions based on the SDL product set, with particular focus on Web Content Management SDL Tridion DX (Sites & Docs)
• Take a lead role in the review of customer’s requirements, developing and documenting subsequent technical solutions.
• Communicate directly with clients or partners providing technical advice and guidance on best practice and developing technical solutions.
• Effectively lead meetings and workshops with the client.
• Produce key technical documentation as required.
• Ensure knowledge transfer occurs enabling the client to effectively use, and in some instances further develop the SDL solution.
• Be commercially aware of the scope of work, highlighting risks and issues and supporting the SDL Project Manager to ensure delivery of services within budget and in accordance with documented expectations.
• Scope and estimate future projects.
• Provides high quality technical solutions to clients that result in excellent customer satisfaction, retention and ultimately repeat revenue growth.  Applies a working knowledge of technical and solutions skills to work independently on common customer projects.
• Operational Excellence – Provides technical solutions that meet the client’s requirements and contribute to the overall success of a software/systems implementation.  Typically works on common and/or straightforward technical aspects of the project.  Achieves results by helping to evaluate the client’s infrastructure and software requirements, define technical specifications, determine infrastructure/software changes and/or configurations, and test software and/or infrastructure components. Communicates technical information effectively by preparing technical documentation and project templates.
• Delivers Quality, Value, Results – Develops appropriate technical recommendations based on accurate analysis of the client’s software and infrastructure requirements.  Clearly communicates with the project team at each phase of the project a detailed status of actions, ensuring any changes are clarified, agreed to, and factored into the overall plan.
• Functional Excellence – Helps to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of software development and/or implementation methods and processes by making suggestions based on experience and feedback from client projects.  Continues to develop greater proficiency in key areas such as: technical skills, solutions and customer knowledge.  
• Relationship Building – Builds credibility with clients and project team members by helping to solve technical issues and applying expertise that enables the overall success of the client implementation. 

 

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate for this role will have a minimum of 10-14 years technical consulting experience, with at least 7 years in a client facing professional services environment, delivering client projects for a consultancy team.

 

Essential

• Experience in Infrastructure setups, AWS certification and hands on knowledge for setting up infra in AWS
• Knowledge on Headless CMS and proven experience with Tridion Sites implementation.
• Experience with MVC
• Experience in one or more enterprise strength Web Content Management products such as SDL Tridion, AEM,  SiteCore, Vignette, Fatwire, Day, Joomla, Sharepoint.
• Experience in one or more enterprise strength Content Management products such as SDL Live Content / Knowledge Center ( preferred)
• Experience in Infrastructure setups
• Experience with running both technical and user training in English.
• Excellent communicator, including presentations and training
• Able to speak English fluently
• Highly professional appearance and the natural ability to command presence.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the natural ability to communicate effectively internally and externally. Develop relationships, with both technical and non-technical personnel and in a confident and friendly manner.

• National and International travel will be required, sometimes for long periods and sometimes at short notice.  Therefore the candidate must be comfortable with project locations being away from their base office.
• Excellent written English and verbal communication skills
• A self-starter able to work independently and be resourceful in terms of finishing tasks and responsibilities.

 

Desirable

• Experience with front-end Java development (JSP, JSTL).
• Knowledge of RESTful Services, XML and XSLT.
• Experience with Continuous Integration, Test Driven Development TDD and automated testing.
• Implementation experience of SDL Tridion products

 

Qualifications and pre-requisites

 

• Technically relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• Must have a valid passport and have the ability to travel internationally.
