Job Description

The Athletes Specialist assists the Sports Marketing Manager in executing project and programmes and takes self-responsibility for selected projects. They are the day to day contact for all things athlete related, and work with the Sports Marketing Manager to develop a strong and impactful athletes program. From helping to identify the right sports personalities, to developing athlete's professional, marketing and communications KPIs to the daily management and discussion of such plans. The specialist will will be solely responsible for the implementation of aligned strategies and plans which include everything from athlete training to custom branding tools to be used on and off the court.

  • Support the start and improvement of a Highly Credible Athletes Programme

    Support the National Sports Marketing manager in selecting relevant national sports personalities with a perfect brand fit and optimise athlete's brand impact and efficiency via professional target setting and controlling. Servicing with the best individual package (performance, marketing, communication).

    On-going optimisation of these co-operations. Work with athletes and other marketing functions to develop potential athlete projects which have brand impact. Strategize and implement ways for athletes to be an impactful part of the local Red Bull Marketing Mix.

  • Athlete and Event Project Support

    Support national sports marketing manager in daily athletes’ affairs and specific projects. Including creating new branded athlete's tools, ordering new branded clothing to daily athlete communication.

    Assist the sports team in- and out of office affairs with tasks of all kinds without any specification on “low priority activities” (e.g. 3rd party events only).

    Support national sports marketing manager and event specialist in organising events by taking over defined parts of bigger projects and realising Small Fires on his/her own.

  • Event and Athlete Coordination

    Co-ordinate event- and athlete-tool workflows and warehouse affairs.

    Assist in the daily and event based coordination of athletes for both athlete project, and or other projects and campaigns which may involve athletes.

    Work together with different functions where athlete cordination may be involved, as well as support to new and innovative ideas for integrated and 360

  • Athlete Management

    Maximise usage of Red Bull’s global athletes and event portfolio by using international Red Bull athletes for local projects and sending national participants (Red Bull athletes or other) to foreign Red Bull activities.

  • Communication

    Contribute unique stories, interesting topics, new formats and top media content for Red Bull Media House.

Your experience includes:

(proven performance in)

  • At least 3 to 5 years experience in sports industry with a focus on athletes interaction, events or marketing agency, sport institution or federation, professional athlete or trainer.

  • knowledge and understanding of local sports industry, different sports and sports related fields, from mass sports, core sports to fitness.

  • Must have a good understanding of local and global Esports, industry, teams and athletes. Great if already have existing connections and network within the Esports industry.

  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Ability to design and organise events and projects of all scales (budgets from € 1k – 1,000k).

  • Ability to select service and manage athletes based on sportive performance, marketing and communication facts.

  • An understanding of sports-performance, specialist knowledge and experience.

  • Creative, innovative, open-minded, sporty, self-conscious, motivated, capable of working in a team, leadership quality.

  • University Degree

  • Mandarin Chinese, English
