Job Description

Your Role 

The China Intelligent Labels Strategy Manager will be responsible for defining Avery Dennison’s domestic China Strategy for it’s Intelligent Labels business, including RFID. This role has primary responsibility for conducting market and business analysis for new business opportunities as well as identifying and development partnerships with key ecosystem players.

 

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Evaluate unmet needs in the China Intelligent Labels  market, market size, competitors and substitute technologies, Avery Dennison strengths and weaknesses in the market, sales channels, manufacturing capability, suppliers and financial implications.

  • Conduct market research to identify unmet needs and test key hypotheses. Consists of extensive networking and market interviews, as well as library research and online research.

  • Develop detailed technological requirements from customers for new products.

  • Perform financial analysis of new business opportunities including sales and market share projections, P&L statements, balance sheets, statement of cash flows, NPV and IRR calculations. Carry out sensitivity analysis to identify impact of changes in key hypotheses.

  • Develop strategic and tactical/business plans which effectively lead to the development of new businesses within the company.

  • Assess Intelligent Labels ecosystem, including trends, growth drivers, competitive dynamics and revenue and profit pools and develop strategic implications and recommendations

  • Create compelling presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to senior management.

  • Scan external technology environment for strategic alliances, business partners, potential joint venture partners, ideas, concepts, and support existing strategic partnership activities, such as joint business development activities and key joint projects

  • Connect with potential partners and forge mutually beneficial strategic relationships

  • Develop RFID and Intelligent Label market forecasts

  • Develop and maintain competitive intelligence

  • Incorporate knowledge of the industry to partner with stakeholders to develop market right products, support materials & pricing recommendations across RFID solutions.

  • Provide analytical support for customer ROI modelling, including innovating, updating and maintaining ROI model templates

  • Maintain key business financial dashboards

  • Provide analytical support to market development activities, e.g., sales trends, customer ROI analysis.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of related experience with similar analytical position desired, such as management consulting, corporate strategy or strategic marketing.

  • Excellent financial skills, analytical skills, and business acumen.

  • Skilled in communicating effectively with all levels of management on complex business issues.

  • Excellent research skills.

  • Excellent understanding of product and technical information.

  • Excellent written and presentation skills, including developing structured presentations

  • Experience in a management consulting or strategic planning role a plus.

  • Experience with B2B technologies a plus

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA a plus

  • Up to 25% travel
