Job Description
The Job
- Client: A Leading IT Product & Service Provider
- Position: System/Desktop Support Engineer
- Responsibilities:
- System Support (Government Sector) – To install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain Microsoft Windows 2003/2008/2012 and Linux servers (Lotus Notes Email System, Squid Proxy, Oracle Databases and other tailor-made applications); To maintain and support systems on:
- Software Dispatch and Software Assets Management System
- Juniper/Pulse Secure SSG firewalls and SSL-VPN appliances
- Next generation firewall (NGFW) appliances and web filtering and security tools
- Backup systems running both Veeam and Symantec Backup Software
- Symantec Anti-Virus / Endpoint Protection servers and Intrusion Detection/Prevention System
- Desktop Support - Provide daily IT helpdesk support services to the users including hardware, software, system and related issues; Provide user account administration support to the users; Responsible for IT projects such as office relocation and system upgrade; Update and review the call status for management review
- $18-27K+, 5 day, medical, bonus
Requirements
- System Support (Government Sector)
- Higher diploma or above in Information Technology or related subjects, or equivalent
- Microsoft Certified Professional Database Administrator (MCDBA)
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate: Windows Server 2012
- At least 5 years of post-qualification working experience in Information Technology with at least 3 years of which are system administration experience in Microsoft Windows Servers/Active Directory (AD)/Networking/Lotus Notes/PC Support and at least 3 years of post-qualification working experience in Linux system administration
- At least 3 years of post-qualification working experience in Oracle/SQL databases and in administration of IT systems of the HKSAR Government
- Desktop Support
- Higher Diploma or above in Computer or related discipline
- 1-2 years relevant working experience in Helpdesk / Internal Support
- Knowledge in IT support, such as Microsoft Windows configuration, Desktop Administration, Microsoft Office Suite
- Basic understanding of network and server side infrastructure
- Hands-on experience in the administration and support for Windows Servers
- Have ITIL knowledge is an advantage
- Holder of MCP, or MCSE, MCITP, CCNA is an advantage;
