1)Required Qualifications
Earned doctorate degree in tourism, recreation, leisure studies, community development, geography, planning, economics or a closely related field from an accredited institution at the time of appointment
Evidence of a strong or promising program of scholarship in tourism studies
Evidence of teaching effectiveness
Ability to work with culturally-diverse populations
Fluent in English

2)Desired Qualifications
Teaching focused on introductory tourism and leisure knowledge, and one or more other areas of expertise including but not limited to sustainable tourism, tourism planning, hotel management, tourism management, tourism marketing, community services and professions, sustainable communities, and diversity and inclusion
Research focused on sustainable tourism, tourism education, island/coastal/tropical tourism, tourism in Southeast Asia, agritourism, health tourism, tourism technology, or tourism in tax free zones
Demonstrated ability to teach effectively in the classroom
Evidence of work on both internally and externally-funded research projects
