Job Description

We are looking for a Trainee Translator (full-time, permanent position) to manage translations, in our internal Google team. The chosen applicant will be joining an existing team of in-house translators in our office in Santiago, Chile. The successful candidate will be a Spanish native speaker from Latin America and fluent in English as a source language, with a degree in translation and excellent writing skills. 
 

Key Responsibilities:

You must have, as a pre-requisite, a very high level of fluency in the target language Spanish together with a degree in translation or languages. Specialization in the field of technical and IT translation and familiarity with translation tools would be an advantage. You will have an excellent command of the English language and be detail-orientated and quality-focused. The position requires you to understand the client's requirements and being able to communicate these to the team, therefore we require well-organised problem solvers with strong communication skills at all levels. The chosen applicant will be joining an existing team of in-house translators. 

You will also have the opportunity after 4-5 months to become more involved in Project Management duties as well.

To be considered you must have previous qualifications or experience of working in a Translation role. You must be PC literate, have excellent MS Office skills and have a keen interest in IT. Any experience of localisation would be advantageous.
