Job Description
Siemens Mobility Limited are recruiting for a Training and Development Specialist. Reporting to the Senior Health and Safety Training Specialist, you will be required to complete thorough Training Needs Analysis to design relevant Health and Safety training, in line with rail industry standards that meet the requirement of our Mobility business and continually improving the Health and Safety training portfolio. The role will also involve conducting workplace health, safety, and environmental training, vocational qualification assessment, or a combination of both for Siemens Mobility employees and external customers. We are looking for someone with thorough knowledge of health and safety operations. Training experience isn’t necessarily required as training can be provided. This role is site independent where you will have the opportunity to different Siemens sites to provide training with most of the in person training provision being provided at the National Training Academy for Rail (NTAR) in Northampton. What are my responsibilities? Delivery of the defined training courses as agreed with the Senior Health and Safety Trainer. Review course content when significant changes to regulatory or internal policies occur. Development of courses on business request or to expand current trainer portfolio. Agree course content with the Senior Health and Safety Trainer and ensure all courses are approved in line with the departmental process. Use feedback from candidates and customers to review and develop course content when appropriate. Using knowledge and understanding of diversity and its impact to develop materials and organise training accordingly. Maintain personal competence to ensure the delivery of training is at the best practice standard and utilising current training techniques. Responsible for allocating and procuring resources to deliver the training plan and ensure customer satisfaction with service. Leads the evaluation of the effectiveness of programmes for updating, enhancement and sharing of best practice. Continue to develop self to the required standard of training qualifications or experience. Responsible for ensure all training meet the requirements as per the Competency Management System and awarding body policy. To evaluate feedback given on training delivered to ensure KPI’s are met. Work closely with the Senior Health and Safety Trainer in Education and Skills to build strong customer relationships across Siemens Mobility understanding training needs by anticipating emerging requirements. Identify risks to Education and Skills delivery and develops actions for mitigation. Actively participate in and drive implementation of improvements to the Health and Safety Training Portfolio. Think creatively, involving digital training methods, to improve learner engagement to the health and safety training content. What do I need to qualify for this job? Essential: Experience in Health and Safety operations NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent Good understanding of health and safety legislation can demonstrate implementation of health and safety procedures in safety critical environments. Excellent communication skills both written and oral. Strong organisation/planning skills. Preferred: Experience within a Rail environment with technical engineering knowledge relating to the rail sector. IOSH Technical Professional membership (IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent) Trainer and assessor qualifications (NVQ Level 4 and A1) or equivalent Working towards or have an internal verification qualification Good understanding of diversity and its impact on training Good people skills and ability to present to all levels of the business About us We’re Siemens.
