Company location: SDL India, Navi Mumbai

 

NOTE - Please only apply if you are willing to work in shift timing from 5:30 am till 2:30 pm (Thu to Mon or Friday to Tue). You can select any one option from between 2 schedule - Thu to Mon or Friday to Tue. You will still get 2 days off in a week. Please note cab pickup and drop are not available. 

 

Main Duties

· Resourcing projects using external resources as per specifications from Project Managers, Translation Manager and Line Managers

· Manages team of freelance translators. Reads all instructions supplied by Client and passes them to the translation team as appropriate.

· Preparing files and sending them to external resources. Lead projects, working closely with overseas project managers to ensure on-time delivery and high quality

· Main contact point for linguistic issues for the rest of the team (Project Manager, Engineers, Desktop Publishers): provides full support for the team, advises PJM on the best approach and tools to be used for specific types of translation.

· Selects freelancers and updates Freelance Database with booking: selects freelancers according to their experience in the subject matter, availability, history with SDL and price.

· Updating Booking, Availability and History information on the Vendor Database

· Informing the Vendor Management team of any Database details which need to be updated

· Notifying the Vendor Management team about new projects which have specific requirements beyond the usual scope of the Database resources

· Checking that new freelance translators are tried out quickly on live projects

· Carrying out project-based negotiation and reporting rate discrepancies to Translation Manager and Vendor Management team for resolution.

Essential requirements

· Degree in translation or any other relevant combination of training and experience.

· 0-3 year translation administrative coordinator or project management experience

· Strong EN skills (Speaking, Listening, Writing and Reading)

· Strong communication & negotiation & persuasion skills

· Careful, detailed personality with good cheerful disposition

· Hardworking and a team player

· Ability to work under pressure
