Job Description

Overview of Job

Reporting to the Language Line Manager, you will work to assist the in-house Translation Team, primarily in the area of coordinating projects which require external vendors including individual freelance translators, groups of freelance translators and agencies.
 
Based on information and instructions provided by your Language Line Manager and Lead Translators, such as pre-assigned pool of vendors, required profile, skills, subject matter and project details, you will contact vendors, clarify our requirements and confirm availability for the specified project work. You will provide support for project activities such as file handling in TMS/WorldServer or client-owned CMS system, file analysis and preparation in SDL Trados Studio, sending/receiving files to freelance translators via email/FTP/GroupShare, exchanging linguistic query sheet, and performing automatic QA checks (when assigned).

You will be responsible of making sure deliveries made in time for the projects assigned to, and you will need to negotiate conditions or schedules with stakeholders whenever necessary with efficient communication skills.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Coordinating projects using external vendors as per specifications from Language Line Manager and Lead Translators
  2. Sharing Booking, Availability and History information with the Translation Team
  3. Informing the Vendor Management team of any Database details which need to be updated
  4. Handling files and sending/receiving them to/from external vendors
  5. Negotiating schedules with stakeholders and making sure punctual deliveries

Performance Criteria

  1. Projects coordinated in a timely manner, to meet the expectations set by the client and Translation team
  2. Accurate file handling and timely dispatch of files

Competences and Experience

  1. Professional verbal and written communication skills in both Korean and English
  2. Ability to prioritize and to work to tight deadlines
  3. Proactive and flexible approach, reliable and systematic
  4. PC literate with good experience of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook
  5. Rich experience with various CAT (Computer Aided Translation) tools, primarily with Trados Studio
  6. Linguistic background is an advantage
