Bentley Systems has exciting new opportunities for talented Transportation Analysts to join our Streetlytics team with a keen interest in applying transportation modeling theory and travel demand forecasting to leading edge analytics technology. Our new colleagues will be responsible for and take part in analyzing complex mobility challenges that can make a difference on our streets and in our marketplaces.

 

You will be part of a team that influences development of the world’s infrastructure, gain valuable experience on latest technologies, work on challenging and interesting tasks every day with highly skilled professionals to deliver transportation analytics in traditional and emerging applications.

 

Location: Sacramento, CA

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product management, development leads, and other colleagues to complete tasks.
  • Design and develop new features and solutions primarily in the Cube Voyager scripting language.
  • Work with a team in the Streetlytics data production and analytics process.
  • Support customer interactions, with a focus on leveraging feedback to enhance the Streetlytics process.
  • Quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and approaches as they come.
     
    Required Skills
  • An advanced degree in transportation engineering or planning, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with the application or development of travel demand models.
  • Hands-on experience with Cube Voyager or other transportation modelling products and, for more senior roles, expert knowledge of the Cube Voyager scripting language is a major advantage.
  • Strong familiarity with the typical data used in transportation analysis in the US and an understanding of data management best practices.
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team of fellow traffic experts and software engineers, to collaboratively devise innovative and practical solutions to complex problems in transportation analysis.
  • Enthusiastic, hands-on team player with proven ability to work and communicate well with clients and team members.
  • A strong passion for taking your knowledge and expertise and applying it in new ways to deliver ground breaking innovation that will empower our clients.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
     
    Desired Skills
  • Significant experience with either R or Python and GIS software (PostGIS, ArcPy, Mapbox, ArcGIS)
  • Experience using big data technologies such as Spark or Hadoop or with SQL and relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL) is a plus
