Oracle's Construction and Engineering business unit is the leading global provider of on premises and cloud-based solutions. Our customers rely on Oracle Construction and Engineering software to help them plan, build and operate their critical assets. This involves coordinating their teams and information to manage risk and improve performance across their processes, projects and organizations.
Our team is seeking a Senior User Experience Designer to join our global design team. Over the next year, our team will be tackling a range of challenging initiatives. We are putting our customers at the heart of everything we do and we’re relying on your skills to connect our product teams in understanding our customer’s behaviors, needs and motivations.

We’re bringing intelligence into our solutions and exploring the adoption of our new design language. There are meaty customer problems to solve, with plenty of complexity and assumptions to unpack!
The success of this role requires close collaboration and coordination with product strategy, technical product management, engineering, and the wider design team across the globe. You will rely on your storytelling ability to communicate ideas for different audiences including sales, consulting and executive leadership.

You'll be responsible for
- unearthing business requirements
- nailing down user requirements
- nutting out business processes, wireframing, and creating interactions and workflows
- working up interactive prototypes
- making visual assets
- diving into usability research, evaluations and testing
- explaining your design rationale and goals to the engineers and others involved
- teaming up with engineers to find the best solutions to our customers' problems
- supporting mobile development teams to put new features into production
Qualifications & previous experience
- BA/BS degree in Design, HCI, CS or related field, or equivalent practical experience, or equivalent industry specific experience.
- 4 years of demonstrable industry experience in UX design or information architecture. Experience with visual and interaction design tools.
Desirable Experience
- Experience with storyboarding, customer journey mapping or service design.
- Experience with responsive or mobile design.
- Knowledge of the construction and engineering sector.

As a member of the User Experience team, you will develop and apply software design/usability processes in the investigation of technical problems. May develop user profiles, with emphasis on human error control, display issues, visual interaction, physical manipulation and task and objective analyses. Provide product usability, evaluation and support to product development teams, including the analysis and investigation of applications/systems including tactile methods, visual graphics, web, multimedia, voice response and conversational user interaction. May assist in developing design concept and implementation, providing input on user design considerations. May produce specifications describing user needs and internal structures for product in development.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically four years of software engineering or related experience needed.!|!
