Oracle’s UGBU (Utilities Global Business Unit) DevOps team is seeking talented DevOps engineers. Do you care about the planet?  We are delivering SaaS solutions that allow Utilities to thrive in a sustainable and rapidly changing future.  We need Engineers (intermediate to senior) adept at solving complex technical problems that span multiple areas combining software and systems; excel in automation scripting, infrastructure orchestration, release management/configuration management and continuous integration – engineer who consider innovation as a major part of their deliverables. You should be able to identify operational patterns and issues and creatively automate solutions working with different internal engineering teams and external customer requirements.

In this role you will need to\:
•    Work with Docker, Kubernetes, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Prometheus, Grafana, Go, Java, and many other modern SaaS technologies
•    Lead projects involving people of many different disciplines\: engineering, cloud, networking, CI/CD, project management, monitoring, alerting etc.
•    Design computing systems that are high performance, scalable, and fault tolerant.
•    Demonstrate a deep understanding of Linux, networking, CI/CD, and large cluster management and automation.
•    Provide technical and business guidance for complex user problems
•    Provide design assistance to Engineering department for new and existing releases
•    Take ownership of the implementation and production operations of a wide array of Core System platform solutions
•    React to production deficiencies by continuously implementing automation, self-healing, and real-time monitoring to production systems
•    Be a strong contributor to development of platform services including architecture, provisioning, configuration, deployment, and support
•    Partner with the distributed team in prototyping new platform services
•    Able to work in a distributed team across the globe

Desired Skills and Experience\:
•    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Electronics / Electric Engineering or equivalent.
•    6 years of experience in DevOps and software engineering
•    Prior experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or equivalent
•    Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
•    Experience in automation/orchestration, configuration management (Ansible, Chef, Salt, Puppet)
•    Extensive hands-on knowledge of system administration and Linux/UNIX operating systems core concepts
•    Knowledge of TCP/IP, firewalls, load balancers, router/swtich and web application architectures
•    Proficiency in four or more modern programming languages (Java, C/C ,   Python, JavaScript, Ruby, Go, Perl, shell)
•    Knowledge of automation trends for operational security processes (e.g. Vulnerability Management, Change Management)
•    Hands-on experience with different Cloud vendors on large-scale distributed deployments
•    Experience with CI/CD
•    Strong Agile background (eg. SCRUM/Kanban), able to practice and mentor others
•    Prior experience supporting production systems and software
•    Ability to both work independently with minimal direction and to collaborate effectively with local or remote teams with a strong customer focus
