Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delivery of items to Guestrooms including but not limited to luggage, messages, packages, and mail to luxury hotel standards
  • Deliver of any other items within the Hotel which includes but is not limited to internal mail, deliveries to Fairmont Gold lounge, Health Club, Spa, etc.
  • Provides a friendly greeting, using guest’s name and welcome to the property
  • Timely response to special requests
  • Actively engage Guests regarding hotel facilities, local area and attractions and shopping services
  • Provide room escort and room orientation for Guest’s which includes explaining the room amenities, functions of the room, and safety and security features of the hotel
  • Inquires about any additional needs that the Guest may have
  • Graciously acknowledge Guests at all times
  • Prompt response for assisting departing Guests
  • Provide seamless Guest experience at all times by coordinating services between departments
  • Takes responsibility for guest inquiries and problems
  • Performs shoe shine duties
  • Perform pick up and delivery of guest luggage etc. to and from off-site areas
  • Record all deliveries and storage of items efficiently and accurately
  • Ensures that the security of the hotel is maintained through participation in the Emergency response procedures
  • Ensure only registered guests and patrons of Hotel outlets and shops use the Reception Lobby
  • Offer all overnight Hotel Guest’s valet service
  • Park, drive, and retrieve vehicle throughout Guest’s stay
  • Other duties as assigned

 

All duties will be performed in accordance with The Fairmont Empress’

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of one (1) year of recent experience (in the last 5 years) as a Bellperson or Doorperson, or in a position demanding a luxury standard of constant guest/customer service. Individuals pursuing or having completed a post-secondary education in Hospitality require a minimum of four (4) months' of recent experience as stated above.
  • A valid BC Class 5 drivers’ license (must provide a drivers’ abstract reflecting a history of responsible driving)
  • Comprehensive and current knowledge of local attractions, events, restaurants and transportation information
