Senior Principal Consultant - Oracle Retail Consulting

Overview:

Oracle Retail Consulting (ORC) US is looking for a highly skilled senior business consultant, specialized in the areas of Retail Planning (MFP, AP, IP, CatMan), Supply Chain (Forecasting, Allocation, Replenishment), and Optimization (Pricing, Size Profiles, Analytics).  In this role, the Senior Principal Business Consultant is part of the implementation team ensuring the successful delivery of our retail application solutions to clients. 

Accountabilities:

  • Navigating complex client relationships and implementation challenges
  • Aiding in the gathering of business requirements related to Planning, Supply Chain, and Optimization retail software offerings with an understanding of how the client’s business process will integrate with our software application
  • Translating business needs to solution design specifications while partnering with the Application and/or the Technical Consultant to gather and document business requirements
  • Leading the translation of business requirements to configuration, partnering with the Business Consultant, to gather requirements and complete the Application Requirements Package/Document
  • Functioning as the primary point of contact for project team on both application and functional task requests
  • Providing leadership to project team, understanding project impact of functional and business related issues
  • Ensuring best practices are being followed, guiding other team resources to complete tasks according to plan
  • Developing test cases and unit tests software and configuration against application and business specifications
  • Estimating project effort once requirements are gathered including level of effort for customer work
  • Documenting designs for non-standard requirements as well as developing other required project documentation
  • Assigning technical tasks to other team members
  • Changing focus between functional andpplication activities
  • Designing solutions based on retail, cost, and hybrid accounting approaches
  • Leading Conceptual and Detailed Design Sessions to review the client’s business process, organization structure, KPIs and assists in determining how best to use Oracle Retail Solutions to meet the client’s changing business needs
  • Identifying and mitigating implementation risks, ensuring Oracle Retail solutions meet the needs of our clients
  • Leading highly interactive, hands-on activities requiring a blend of strong analytical, communication, and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrating advanced subject matter knowledge of relevant implementation responsibilities, demonstrating excellent presentation and facilitation skills
  • Providing thought leadership and guidance on or validation of issues, action items, assumptions, questions, requirements during multiple phases of implementation, as well as recommending and providing best practices on business process design within the scope of the project and in accordance with the specific Oracle Retail solutions in use
  • Providing guidance to teammates on developing materials to complete transition from implementation team to customer support, as well as providing strategic guidance to teammates on internal and external test strategy, plans and scripts; client training; User Acceptance Testing; and defect resolution, if necessary 
  • Demonstrating excellent presentation and facilitation skills

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience, including 2 years in a client-facing role
  • Leading conceptual and detailed design sessions
  • Client interfacing experience working at customer sites
  • Expertise with large-scale software implementations including customization of products to meet client requirements
  • Knowledge and experience in implementing solutions for on-premise or cloud environments
  • Retail Planning (MFP, AP, IP, Category Management)
  • Supply Chain (Forecasting, Allocation, & Replenishment)
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to take ownership and responsibility for all work
  • Strong understanding of software development and implementation methodology
  • Must be passionate about creating best-in-class solutions for Oracle Retail customers
  • Functional expertise in retail planning and supply chain

Desired Skills:

  • Hands-on experience on RPAS (Retail Predictive Application Server)
  • Retail Experience working with SaaS/Cloud solutions
  • Retail industry software and data models experience
  • Retail Analytics (Size Profiles, Demand Transference, Clustering)
  • Merchandising Fundamentals
  • Prior consulting experience strongly preferred

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related descipline and/or equivalent professional work experience

May act as the team lead on projects, providing coaching, guidance and feedback to develop skills of team members. Effectively consults with management of customer organizations. Participates in business development activities. Develops and leads detailed solutions for moderately complex projects.

6-8 years of experience relevant to this position including 3-4 years consulting experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to build rapport with team members and clients. Ability to travel as needed.
