As a Senior Applications Engineer, you will be part of a geographically distributed development team responsible for several important aspects of the product lifecycle such as design and implementation of back-end services. Additionally, you may also be help in tasks related to scalability, performance, monitoring, and DevOps.

Required Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in CS or related field, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years in the software development industry
• Strong experience in database modelling
• Strong experience developing Java applications
• Thorough understanding of OO principles, design patterns, and best practices
• Experience with technologies such as Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Quartz is a plus
• Agile practices (Scrum, Kanban, Test-driven development)
• Experience with Software Configuration Management tools and software engineering best practices
• Key security concepts and practices in software development

 

Optional qualifications

• Design and implementation of REST APIs
• Bash, Golang
• Cloud platforms & related technologies (OCI is a plus)

• Linux Systems Administration (Oracle Linux is a plus)
• Oracle RDBMS

Analyze, design develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for commercial or end user applications. Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will perform high-level design based on provided external specifications. Specify, design and implement minor changes to existing software architecture. Build highly complex enhancements and resolve complex bugs. Build and execute unit tests and unit plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering as necessary to discuss minor changes to product functionality and to ensure quality and consistency across specific products.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
