Software Engineer

Oracle Hospitality (Cruise) is developing the exciting Next-Generation Cruise solution to enable our customers in the cruise industry to provide superior service and experience to their guests. Thus, we are seeking for the BEST talent in the industry to join our talented team! As a Software Engineer, you will apply your expertise and energy to design and implement key Components of the Cruise products.

Responsibilities:

Work in an Agile team.

• You will be assigned to a cross-functional and self-organizing team to deliver the backlog items of the backlog.
• You must be a good team player.

Work primarily as a software developer in the Agile team. Tasks may include:

• Writing Functional Specifications,
• Writing Design Documentation,
• Coding,
• Perform Code Review,
• Unit Testing,
• Debugging & Troubleshooting,
• Integrating with other applications,
• Performance Tuning, and
• Maintenance of existing Cruise Products (Sustaining Engineering).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems, Engineering or related (Ideally in Computer science or engineering)
• 5+ years of software development experience
• Proficiency in J2EE and MVC pattern with exposure to JavaScript framework

Preferred Skills:

• Professional experience in software product development using Spring Boot with required experience in JavaScript framework (React / Angular / Knockout / OJET)
• Experience in REST APIs and SOAP Services
• Experience with development tools such as JDeveloper, Eclipse, GIT, SVN (Unit testing and code coverage tools is desired)
• Oracle Database programming including Database design, Oracle SQL and PL/SQL
• Java/J2EE and cloud development experience is a plus
• Need to have concept of micro services – benefits, limitations, challenges
• Familiarity of CI/CD and development best practices, especially around automation and testing
• Experience with cloud platforms, cloud technologies/deployments and cloud Native architecture
• Experience with docker and container management platforms (ECS, Kubernetes, etc) a plus
• Thorough understanding of Object-Oriented principles

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
