The OAL Agile Center of Excellence is a small group within the Product and Planning Center of Excellence dedicated to helping our Agile Teams, teams of Agile Teams, and our entire organization recognize the full benefits of Lean, Agile, and DevSecOps practices using the combination of standards, coaching, and relentless improvement toward an ever-improving set of outcomes for our business stakeholders and Oracle.

Position Summary

The OAL Agile Center of Excellence team is looking for an ambitious, experienced Agile Coaches in Mexico.

In this role, you will have the responsibility to coach and support our Agile Teams and teams of Agile Teams to improve the efficiency and quality of the delivery of large, complex capabilities and associated or independent features to our production environments.

To be successful in this role, you will need to effectively communicate across diverse functional areas within Oracle Application Labs and, often, Business stakeholders in multiple geographies. You are passionate about business outcomes and drive results by effective stakeholder engagement, by providing coaching and structure for distributed teams, and by creatively helping them remove impediments to their delivery. You help teams identify risks, coach them in creating mitigation plans, and creatively coach teams to solve problems to deliver results.

What We Need

You have 5+ years of experience in managing all of or some aspects of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) with a proven track record of 3+ years leading and coaching teams using Lean, Agile, and DevSecOps methodologies and practices.

You have certifications in leadership and/or Agile Coaching area and Agile training experience. You have a track record of using a hands-on approach to identifying impediments to improving agility and speed of execution and coaching teams to improvements. You understand how to scale agility within an organization and have a track record of obtaining buy-in at the executive level to the methodology to do so.

You prioritize individual creativity, freedom, and growth over command and control, prescriptive designs, and status reports.  You succeed through your teams as a servant leader with focus on coaching and inspiration, not direction and requirements.

You are knowledgeable of DevSecOps, CI/CD practices, and various methods of measuring Lean Flow and coaching automation to improve the flow of feature delivery to production environments.

You have experience using in-person and remote training as a tool to educate attendees on the “what”, “why”, and, where possible, the “how” of Agile, Lean, and DevSecOps practices and supporting their ongoing education and certification.

Responsibilities

  • Comfortable presenting, communicating, and interacting with executives within and outside the organization.
  • Drives consensus between organizations and stakeholders.
  • Uses data and active listening to identify and help resolve impediments that prevent teams from being efficient in their delivery of capabilities and features each quarter.
  • Effectively helps Agile Teams and teams of Agile Teams adapt their plans based on changing data or conditions and communicate effectively to stakeholders and dependent teams.
  • Coaches and supports cross-functional execution of key initiatives across all phases of their lifecycle and measures their effectiveness while identifying areas for improvement.
  • Certifies as a trainer for and supports training on courses provided by the Agile COE team supporting Lean, Agile, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Aligns teams with the business objectives and understands the inter-dependencies across cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure teams consider all requirements of producing high-quality, secure, extensible, scalable, and performant software configurations using domain expertise of DevSecOps.

Required Experience/Skills

  • BS/BA degree required; MS/MIS or MBA is a plus
  • 6-10 years of software development lifecycle experience with a minimum of 5 years in a project management or development leadership capacity in an Agile development environment.
  • Certified Agile Coach (ICP-ACC or equivalent) or Leadership Coach (ICF or equivalent), plus deep experience coaching Agile teams. Existing certification is a requirement.
  • Certified SAFe Program Consultant or Release Train Engineer using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or comparable enterprise Agile frameworks, plus deep experience in the role. Existing certification is a requirement.
  • Experience implementing SAFe or equivalent enterprise Agile framework in an organization.
  • Detailed understanding of the concepts of continuous integration and continuous deployment and related DevSecOps practices.
  • Proven success with consistently delivering complex, cross-functional, technology projects (product or IT) for technology companies.
  • Experience building enterprise software applications in various roles.
  • High-quality organizational and leadership skills.
  • Schedule flexibility working across multiple geographies.
  • Experience directly managing a team.
  • A technical mindset with great attention to detail.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • A learning mindset with a willingness to try new approaches, innovate, and improve.
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud applications is a plus.
  • PMI PMP, CSM, or similar certification/training is a plus.

Manage the development and implementation process of a specific company product involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products. Plan and direct schedules and monitor budget/spending. Monitor the project from initiation through delivery. Organize the interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget constraints. Assign and monitor work of systems analysis and program staff, providing technical support and direction.

Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Ten or more years of project management, product design or related experience needed.
