Design new scalable solutions for fast changing infrastructure environment with complex needs in fields like: configuration deployments, monitoring, and logging. Perform deep drill down analysis into performance bottlenecks and provide necessary fixes. Bring in new ideas, change, evolve, improve and simplify the production infrastructure. Work closely with our development and research teams and provide customer friendly solutions and support. Responsible for working on the design, development, and/or deployment of enterprise supporting systems. The ideal candidate would have high-level design as well as detailed hands-on experience with n-tier custom applications or packaged applications implementations like Oracle Fusion Applications or Oracle EBusiness, SAP, Salesforce, or similar; high volume transaction processing systems; Oracle Fusion Middleware or other SOA or middleware implementations; Oracle or other large workload database systems; load balancers and other aspects of networking configurations; and more. This team works in Agile, DevSecOps fashion - ideal candidates will have practical experience with repository tools like BitBucket, deployment tools like Ansible, infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, or equivalent. Ideal candidates will want to expand their knowledge and skills through ongoing project and training opportunities.
Desired skills
- DevOps exposure and knowledge of one or more tools such as Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, Ansible
- Understanding of security tools and services
- Automation deployment and configuration in Linux environment
- Understanding or experience in container technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform etc.
- Git, SVN, or similar version control experience
- Programming/scripting in BASH, Python, Ruby
- Experience in a range of cloud migration discovery, profiling, migration, and operations technologies and tools
- Depth in various cloud migration patterns such as re-host, re-platform and refactor, ability to drive client discussions, develop scope and effort estimates to address the different migration patterns
- Ability to translate workload requirements into public cloud or hybrid cloud technical architecture, incorporating Compute, Networking and Storage requirements in the architecture
- Ability to engage in discussions, whiteboarding, impactful prototypes and convincing technical arguments
- Awareness and knowledge of networking and latency considerations for different workloads
- Experience in understanding regulatory and enterprise security considerations and designing solutions factoring such considerations
- Broad understanding of applications and systems from Oracle, Microsoft, SAP, IBM etc.
- Experience in migrating application workloads to the cloud (added advantage if such workloads include Oracle applications such as Oracle EBS, Peoplesoft, JD Edwards or Siebel)
- Be familiar with OCI, VMWare, KVM, AWS, Azure, or Open Stack
- Strong written and verbal communications and presentation skills
