Telco 5G Core Consultant will be responsible for delivering Oracle Telco 5G core-based customer solutions for the consulting services organization. This person has primary responsibility for the technical delivery and support of a customer solution.  The Consultant will work with delivery team and others vendors to successfully scope and deliver customer solutions. Key activities performed by the Consultant will include:

1. Delivery process definition (Implementation Strategies) 
2. Migration and Database Conversion planning 
3. Performance Optimization/automation/scripting
4. Integration/Interoperability/automated Testing 
5. 24/7 Advanced Support handling tickets for expedite resolutions

 

Primary responsibilities of the Consultant are:

 

• Provide Professional services for Oracle Communications Cloud Native (OCCNE) based 5G core NFs (NRF, SCP, SEPP, ATS, converged Policy platform and BSF)
• Service support delivery activities include on-site assistance, supporting the engineering and planning group, in the implementation of new solutions, improvements, etc
• Create, maintain, and execute detailed Methods of Procedures (MOP’s), Completion Notices (CN’s), and schedules of activities and deliverables.
• Assist with the resolution of a wide range of network faults, including performance metrics and call processing related issues.
• Generate and apply preventive routines and procedure and deliver high quality reports to the customer. 
• Deliver advanced analysis of platform KPIs and statistics in order to generate trend reports and identify potential issues or threats to the Oracle platforms.
• Follow up and update technical tickets SRs at My Oracle Support on customer´s behalf.
• Assist to customer in preparation of maintenance windows execution: knowledge transfer regard the activities to be executed, prepare customer documentation, identify risks and potential impacts and prepare contingency plans.
• Attend emergency calls 24/7 to support and evaluate operational problems, issues, analyze, perform workaround or solution on short term proposals.

• Knowledge & experience of data communications concepts of network architecture, TCP/IP Protocol suite, SNMP, NTP and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge & experience with the following LAN technologies: Ethernet (10/100/1000/10G), VLANs, Spanning-Tree, and switching knowledge.
• Knowledge & experience with VPN, IPSec, SCTP, TLS, IPv4, and IPv6, and Routing Protocols/technologies. Ansible Tower, Playbook, REST API knowledge is a plus.
• Knowledge with platforms framework and Operating Systems: Linux/Unix, Windows, Cloud Native (OpenShift, VMWare or Oracle), Kubernetes (K8s), Grafana, Kibana, Jaeger, Jenkins, Selenium, Openstack, and Kubernates certification preferred.
• Strong Knowledge/experience 4G & 5G Technologies: Diameter (RFC 3588) protocol/applications/interfaces/http2, LTE/EPC/IMS architectures (PCRF, PCEF, MME, BBERF, CSCF, DRA, OCS, OFCS).
• Knowledge & Experience of subscriber database technologies: HLR, HSS, SPR, EIR, ENUM, AAA, SDS, MySQL, DB query/scripting (pearl/python).
• Must be a self-starter and able to work independently with Field service experience in customer facing roles.
• Ability to effectively deal with multiple activities, changing priorities, organizational skills and ability to perform under pressure in critical situations.
• Strong oral and written communications skills and must be able to clearly and effectively communicate work status, risks, and issues.
• Confident to deal with customer incidents and issues on demand.
• Willing to attend and support Maintenance Window (on site or remotely) including weekends.
• Willing to attend duty shifts of 24 X 7 on-call support on a rotational basis including weekends.

 

 

Education       

• Language (Mandatory): Spanish, English
• BS required, MS preferred in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years’ experience in implementation of large-scale service provider network infrastructures.
• 3+ years working in the services Architecture/Design/Consulting industry.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry with specialization in 4G Core (5G is a plus), LTE/EPC, diameter/http2 and a good exposure to network functions such as NRF, PCF, SCP, AMF, UDR, SEPP, NSSF, NEF, SEPP, and BSF.
