Role

This position offers very experienced Database and Applications administrators the opportunity to lead the analysis, planning, and execution of all primary administrative functions for both Production and Non-Production environments.  Successful candidates will have a deep background in Oracle Database technology including RAC and will be accustomed to supporting 24X7 production and highly critical development environments.  Prior responsibility for support of critical business applications and mission critical databases is necessary.  Technical skills as well as written and verbal communication skills are equally important to this role.  Previous exposure to Oracle Utilities applications including CC&B, MDM, MWM, and WAM is a plus, but not necessary for the role.

 Responsibilities

  • Provide 24x7 production support for Oracle 11g/12c/19c databases on various platforms.
  • Provide support to complete stack including database, middleware (WebLogic, SOA), application (OUAF app like CCB, MDM, WAM, MWM), OS and cloud infrastructure.
  • Automations using Unix Shell Scripting  
  • Support cloud infrastructure(IaaS) activities in Oracle Cloud & AWS
  • Proactive monitoring and performance tuning of databases
  • Change and Release Management,  Business continuity and Capacity Planning 
  • Database backup, recovery,  cloning and refreshes using RMAN, Data pump 
  • Provide status reports to project manager and /or Team Lead
  • Create documentation  for new and/or existing technical methodologies 
  • OEM expertise in installing, configuring and maintenance.
  • Oracle Utilities Application Installation, Administration and Maintenance
  • Analyze and implement Oracle Utilities product software notifications and updates

Requirements

  • University degree in IT, Computer Science or any of its equivalents.
  • Proficiency in all DBA responsibilities such as database Installation, Configuration, Upgrades, Patches, Backup (Cold and Hot), Recovery, Cloning, Space management, Database Security, Auditing, Troubleshooting, Database Design, SR  support.
  • 5 or more years’ experience in supporting production databases with high-availability  in 24/7 environments
  • 5 or more years’ experience with Linux flavors(Solaris,Linux,Aix)
  • Experienced in using RMAN utility for backups and restorations.
  • In depth knowledge on OEM in installing the OEM, agents, monitoring , setting alerts and generating reports
  • Proficient in capturing AWR reports, analyzing them and making performance improvement recommendations
  • At least two years’ work experience in SQL & performance tuning.
  • Good understanding of relational database design and normalization
  • Working knowledge on ASM & On cloud is a plus 
  • Experience with ITIL Service Delivery and Service Support functions (Change Management, Release Management, Incident Management, Problem Management etc.) is a plus
  • Knowledge in Middleware administration including WebLogic, SOA and Golden Gate is advantage
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with team members and clients
  • Unix Shell scripting

OTA-IWE-MX

Intermediate consulting position operating independently with some assistance and guidance to provide quality work products to a project team or customer that comply with Oracle methodologies and practices. Performs standard duties and tasks with some variation to implement Oracle products and technology to meet customer specifications.

Standard assignments are accomplished without assistance by exercising independent judgment, within defined policies and processes, to deliver functional and technical solutions on moderately complex customer engagements.

2-5 years of overall experience in relevant functional or technical roles. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with team members and clients. Ability to travel as needed.
