Position Summary

Oracle Applications Labs (OAL) is a global organization that runs the applications that run Oracle. Within OAL the Lean-Agile Program Management Office manages the strategic, cross-functional initiatives and Agile development proven practices that are implemented across the organization.

 

The Principal Program Manager will be responsible for helping to guide Agile teams through the successful completion of their objectives against critical strategic initiatives.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Help to define program scope and scheduling while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value using CI/CD Practices.
  • Organize, lead and coach Agile ceremonies and working meetings.
  • Prepare and distribute progress reports; manage risks and issues; correct deviations from plans; and perform delivery planning for assigned projects
  • Guides cross-functional execution of key initiatives across all phases of their lifecycle.
  • Assist in team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work.
  • Leveraging organizational resources to improve capacity for program work; and mentoring and developing team members
  • Coordinates activities across cross-functional teams.
  • Define and manage a well-defined Agile program management process and champion ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement proven practices for Agile Project Management
  • Creates, optimizes, and drives plans using Lean-Agile methodologies.
  • Effectively helps teams adapt plans based on changing needs or conditions.
  • Promote empowerment of the team, ensure that each team member is fully engaged in the program and making a meaningful contribution, and encourage a sustainable pace with high-levels of quality for the team
  • Identifies helps resolve impediments that prevent teams from delivering on their commitments.
  • Embraces and fosters a “lifelong” learning mindset across Agile teams within OAL.
  • Aligns teams with the business’ objectives and understands the inter-dependencies across cross-functional teams.
  • Fosters and helps build relationships with our business partners to help drive overall business agility
  • Frames communication and discussions for the intended audience, with appropriate context and line of sight.

 

Required Experience/Skills:

  • BS/BA degree required; MS/MIS or MBA is a plus
  • Proven experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or Lean-Agile methodologies. Certifications in these areas is a significant plus.
  • SAFe Program Consultant Certification is an asset.
  • 6-10 years of overall technology implementation experience with a minimum of 3 years in one or more Agile methodologies, as a project manager, or as a development lead.
  • Proven success with consistently delivering cross-functional, technology projects (product or IT) for large technology companies using Agile approaches.
  • Strong understanding and implementation experience of Lean, Agile/Scrum and modern DevOps methodologies
  • Experience with working in a global distributed project team
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • A learning mindset with willingness to try new approaches, innovate, and improve
  • Technical background is a plus
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud applications is a plus
Coordinates all aspects of internal information system-specific projects from initiation to delivery. Projects often involve network, server, or software implementation and upgrades, PC deployment and the like.

Coordinates work performed by IT staff and internal customers/partners by defining project specifications, performing feasibility and needs/impact assessments. Develops detailed project plans and manages all implementation processes including resource allocation, progress tracking, monitoring change control process, testing, documentation, training and on-time delivery within budget constraints.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically seven years of project management, product design or related experience needed.
