Are you passionate about Software development using latest cloud native technologies? Are you a collaborator, someone willing to learn from within IBM and more importantly adopt best practices from outside of IBM, an Agile practitioner with a willingness to jump in and figure out complex technical problems, with a focus on delivering results?

The IBM Client Innovation Center in East Lansing, MI, is looking to hire experienced software engineers to help support our clients with delivering high quality software. In this fast­paced and expanding organization, we foster an environment of continuous innovation and working in a collaborative, client focused teams and building cloud native solutions using IBM garage methodologies.

The Qualified candidate will be responsible for development of solutions by working with product manager, scrum master, architects, developers and business stakeholders.

Must have the ability to work in the US without current/future need for IBM sponsorship

Responsibilities include:
- Contribute in Microservices design and architecture.
- Hands-on in designing and coding enterprise applications using Cloud Native Application/Microservices development.
- Responsible for doing API Development and API Management using API Gateways
- Develop applications using technologies such as SpringBoot and NoSQL Document databases (MongoDB)
- Responsibilites also include building and deploying applications Dev/Ops, Docker and Kubernetes, Kafka, Stream data processing and ETL.
Support our clients from our East Lansing center. However, some travel is expected and all candidates must be willing and able to travel to meet our client needs across the US. Travel is typically related to knowledge transfer and training at the client site (Monday thru Friday). You are expected to travel approximately 50% of the time.  This is a traditional office position.  You must live in, or be willing to relocate to, MICHIGAN. The work location is 196 Crescent Rd, East Lansing, MI 48824. This is not a work from home position.

Introduction

As an IBM Application/Microservices Developer, you directly help clients transform their business and solve complex problems. You will define the scope and vision for projects that deliver customized solutions using your knowledge of IBM platforms. You are a technical leader, serving as a liaison among business partners, technical resources, and project stakeholders.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Minimum 3 years of experience in following areas.
- Cloud Native Application/Microservices development. Strong understanding of Microservices architecture.  Hands-on experience in developing and deploying Microservices solutions on Cloud infrastructure

- API Development and API Management using popular API Gateways
- Strong in Java
- SpringBoot
- Experience in NoSQL Document databases (MongoDB)                                                

Candidates should be fast learners with appetite for gaining new skills.  Team lead experience highly desirable.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

Following skills are a plus:
- Dev/Ops experience
- Docker and Kubernetes experience
- Kafka experience
- Stream data processing
- ETL knowledge
