Job Description
Seeking a DevOps Deployment Engineer to meet production platform management needs of the Oracle Linux, Virtualization, and Systems organization.
This candidate will join the Systems Lab Operations (LabOps) team in design and implementation of DevOps style platform and software deployment and management solutions to further enable product development efforts for Oracle Linux, Virtualization, Cloud, Solaris, and Engineered Systems.
A successful candidate will possess the following\:
Expertise as a DevOps engineer with knowledge experience in implementing cloud-native solutions.
Experience configuring both on-prem and cloud resources via code. (IaC) Strong understanding of traditional monolithic and cloud-native application frameworks Experience planning and delivering cloud migration projects from traditional on-premise deployment models Proven understanding of common cloud APIs Curiosity and willingness to learn new skills, work with new tools, and discover new and innovative approaches to solving complex technical challenges Cloud experience and/or certification (Oracle, AWS, Azure, Google, etc.)
Location\: San Francisco Bay Area, preferred.
Preferred Skills
IaaS, SaaS, or NaaS Oracle Cloud configuration experience Experience migrating on-prem solutions to cloud Micro-services and loosely coupled design principles and coding experience Extensive experience using one or more programming languages such as Python, Go, Perl, C, Shell Expertise in developing scalable IaaS software in an immutable infrastructure paradigm (ansible, terraform, puppet) Experience working with one or more operating system virtualization solutions Experience working with one or more containerization solutions System Administration experience (Linux/Solaris) Maintaining Infrastructure as Code in Source Code Management
CI/CD & build automation tooling
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) experience Disaster Recovery design and deployment Oracle DB, Oracle MySQL or other database technologies Kickstart and Jumpstart configuration and administration Experience with one or more Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) projects!|!Analyze, design develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for commercial or end user applications. Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
