Oracle Managed Cloud & SaaS Services is currently seeking Database engineer to help support Oracle Cloud operations business.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES\:

• Perform Oracle database support duties on Windows and Linux platforms
• Performs database configuration, software installation and upgrades of high availability Windows and Linux systems.
• Strong knowledge of RMAN backup/restore and Oracle Data Guard setup
• Oracle database monitoring and performance tuning
• Provide technical support and help for internal departments and local offices.
• Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and operation of hosted systems
• Provide backend support for the systems to internal Customer Support staff
• Answer phone calls from internal support teams and external partners
• Participation of DBA on-call 24 x 7 rotation
• Manage support tickets for the data center
• Follow Change management and generic datacenter related policies and procedures
• Database and Cloud automation

QUALIFICATIONS\:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent combination of relevant experience.
• At least 15 years work experience in IT as a database engineer on Windows and Linux environments
• Good verbal and written English skills
• Willingness to join on-call 24 x 7 rotation after trial period
• Customer focused and team oriented work
• Shell scripting and automation experience

!|!Analyze, design develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for commercial or end user applications. Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will specify, design and implement major changes to existing software architecture. Create new architecture for a moderate size product or a portion of a major product. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to ensure consistency, testability and portability across products in general.

Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.
