Bartender - Part time

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Prepare and pour beverages on a cash and host basis
  • Prompt, efficient and courteous service of beverages
  • Create an upbeat, energetic and fun atmosphere
  • Handle cash wine sales
  • Prepare consumption sheets and cash out
  • Account for stock (inventory control)
  • Clean bar and storage spaces
  • Suggest up selling of food and beverage to guests
  • Provide information and guidance to guests
  • Balance cash at end of shift
  • Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Minimum of two (2) years recent, (in the last 5 years) full-time experience in the preparation, pouring and service of beverages
  • Completely fluent English language skills, both written and verbal
  •    "Serving It Right" and “Food Safe” Certification
  •    Thorough knowledge of cocktail trends, knowledge of classic cocktails and preparations
  •    Working knowledge of standard bar equipment
  •    Completion of a practical bartending test
  •    Excellent organizational skills with the proven ability to perform well with minimal supervision
  •    A high level of responsibility and commitment with proven success in relationship building
  •    Driven focus on upselling
  •    Ability to observe and detect guests to provide prompt service
  •    Impeccable grooming and presentation
  •    Must be bondable
  •    Physical ability to perform the requirements of the job, including:
    • Standing/walking for 90% of shift
    • Performing repetitive work
    • Bending and twisting
    • Lifting and carrying heavy loads

 

NOTE: The position of Bartender is physically demanding.  The successful applicant must be physically capable of standing/walking for 90% of shift, performing repetitive work, bend, twist, as well as lifting and carrying heavy loads.
