Job Description

Department Description                       

The Software Asset Management and Compliance Department is responsible for analyzing and tracking compliance, ensuring that present and future licensing needs are maintained consistently, tracking individual license usage, while providing timely restocking guidance based on average burn and reclaim rates.  We also provide assistance to users navigating the various departments at Oracle to help fulfil their software needs including legal, procurement, security and IT.

Brief Posting Description                      

Writes and maintains user and analyst facing documentation.  Manages my.oracle presence and other web based collaboration tools.  Administers Linux based file server application.  Tests application packages and deployment methodology.

Operates in a backup capacity for other team operations.

Detailed Description                   

Global Software Compliance (GSC) serves as a liaison with other divisions such as Finance, Contracts, HR, Legal, Shared Services, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing, and Risk Management in an effort to ensure accurate and timely transaction processing. GSC collects, inputs, verifies, corrects, and analyzes data to measure key performance indicators, comparing actual versus business objectives. Specific job duties align with the GSC mission and facilitate the communication of Oracle Business Practices to the organization.  This role helps with system design for related Oracle tools such as MyDesktop and helps drive the implementation of new processes and procedures.

Acknowledged authority within the Corporation.  Acts as a leader of large-scale company initiatives.  Viewed by peers as a leader, and top contributor, and by line management as a key business partner.  Ability to collect, organize, and display data in spreadsheets, power point and other collaboration or online formats.  Follow-through skills necessary to get information from internal and third parties and have data errors/omissions corrected. For this, relationship management skills strongly desired. Strong written and verbal communication skills . Ability to partner across functions. 10 plus years relevant work experience.

Position Purpose and Job Description

The Software Compliance Documentation and Technology Specialist is a member of the Global Software Compliance Department and responsible for technical business process as well as internally and user facing documentation.

Candidate collaborates, collects, and documents business requirements for new tool enhancements related to software license management, reviews changes, performs QA testing, and provides feedback on newly released tool enhancements as well as user facing software package deployment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Administer newsletter tracking APEX application, RHEL production and development environments for file server application, my.oracle presence, confluence workspace in addition to other technical administration duties.

Create, update and maintain analyst and user facing documentation, collect and contribute to newsletters, email templates, etc.

Organize related interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

Act as leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others.

Helps understand and navigate various Oracle departments leveraging relationship building skils.

Education Required

BS or MS degree, or equivalent experience relevant to functional area

 

Skills Desired

Linux system administration

HTML, PHP, Perl
