Business Development Consultant
Preferred Qualifications:
Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer, Oracle Database Cloud (including Oracle Exadata Cloud Service, Oracle Database Cloud Services, and Autonomous Database), Oracle Exadata on-premises, Oracle Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance and Oracle Database Appliance are extremely successful solutions with a wide adoption across the globe. To help accelerate the adoption of these strategic products and help understand market value and requirements, we are looking for an addition to the Global Strategy and Outbound Product Management team. This person will focus on gathering the various customer use cases, write up customer case studies and deliver data points for the various Product Managers, that help understand market adoption.
At a strategic level, this person needs to help collect data from the strategic use cases globally and prepare the basis for market segment decisions as well as customer and partner programs.
At a tactical level, this individual will work with the various lines of business: regional business development, sales, product management teams and customers documenting the use cases, help understand and prioritize.
Potential responsibilities will include:
- Working with regional business development teams to understand priorities, to develop use case assets, that help enhancing the pipeline
- Working with field marketing teams to support campaigns with the respective customer use cases
- Working with product marketing to support sales plays
- Working with Alliances and Channel teams to gather partner references
- Build credible references, success stories and technical case studies
Specific Job Background:
- 5 or more years of business development experience, preferably in enterprise computing and cloud technologies; familiarity with Oracle engineered systems and cloud offerings.
- Excellent written and communication/presentation skills
- Experience in working closely with sales, business development teams as well as customers.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with familiarity in building and fostering customer relationship
- Attention to details, interview skills
- Positive attitude to accept and embrace constant changes
Oversees the development of strategic market/product line business plans and marketing programs to support sales in designated market segments. Engages in many areas of business development to include strategy, programs, demand generation, building pipeline, increasing deal size, and account planning. Analyzes market data to identify trends/opportunities and develops strategic direction from market information. Identifies volume and strategic customers. Primary interaction is with Oracle sales force; however, may interact with external customers as it relates to the development and facilitation of ongoing business and/or business relationship. Supports the business by interfacing with the sales organization and other internal groups (such as Product Development, Operations, GBUs, Marketing, etc.)
Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 8-12 years of Marketing/Business Development experience in the technology industry, preferably software industry. Experience should include relationship management. Conversant in Oracle technology and product strategies. Ability to determine strategy and tactical plans that deliver tangible results. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. BA/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.
