Job Description

The Business Development Group (BDG) is Oracle’s digital demand generation team, working closely with internal sales and marketing leaders to develop incremental pipeline for Oracle’s Cloud business. This exciting opportunity is focussed on demand generation for Oracle's Technology range of Solutions for the EMEA region.

 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Generate high quality CLOUD opportunities for the Technology LOB across the EMEA region in line with agreed pipeline commitments with the relevant sales leaders
  • Deliver comprehensive pipeline forecasts both within BDG and externally to key stakeholders
  • Drive revenue growth through the monitoring of structured pipeline progression framework committed to continuously improving conversion rates of BDG pipeline
  • Lead multiple teams of Business Development Managers & Senior Managers to achieve/exceed individual demand generation targets across three BDG Hubs (Dublin, Cairo, Bucharest)
  • Deliver optimum customer experience by ensuring BDC’s are equipped with all relevant prospect insight and collateral when executing on both Inbound and Outbound demand generation activity, and ensuring response SLA’s are achieved at all times.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of Marketing and digital Demand Generation Framework by ensuring insight from BDG activity is presented back to the relevant organisations with recommendations for future program development and prospect engagement plans
  • Responsible for internal customer satisfaction within Oracle by establishing relationships and aligning with various cross functional Senior Leadership stakeholders in order to continue improving the services expected from the Business Development Group.
  • Identify, recruit and develop world class Business Development professionals, providing an exceptional talent pool for career progression within Oracle.
  • Play a key role in the development and management of BDG Talent Development Framework to ensure Oracle is maintained as an employer of choice for world class sales professionals in the Tech industry
  • Provide structured reporting and governance to all stakeholders (In-country Sales Leadership up to VP and SVP levels, Sales Directors, Sales Managers, Marketing Leaders, and Country Managers) regarding the performance of the BDG Teams, furnishing them with statistics and presenting with high impact at all levels of the organisation, ensuring we deliver on agreed goals, vision and strategy.
  • Own the headcount budget process for their region; plan and organise resources to maximise operational efficiencies.
  • Ensure career progression of team members through consistent coaching, training attendance and support.
  • Act at all times as ambassador for the BDG brand within Oracle and strategically position BDG as an invaluable lead qualification centre, assisting Sales Team’s across EMEA to help them achieve revenue targets.
  • Drive the use of new innovative digital tools and technology to optimise productivity and efficiency
  • Drive operational excellence through continuous review of all processes supporting BDG activity and ensuring the evolution of the business through improved efficiency measures
 

The Business Development Group Director will be an integral member of the BDG Senior Leadership Team, part of the Oracle Digital Demand Generation organisation and ideal candidates:-

  • Have successfully managed both revenue and non-revenue producing functions in the Technology industry with clients and prospects across EMEA.
  • Have significant experience of digital demand generation and/or Marketing functions ideally in the Cloud Technology space
  • Have managed teams that have grown rapidly while achieving their operational targets
  • Exemplify personal drive, determination, process excellence, and the highest of ethical standards.
  • Have a proven track record in identifying, developing, motivating and retaining top talent in a dynamic sales or demand generation function
  • Have proven personal success in sales or deep working knowledge of sales cycle processes
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5-10 years’ experience in Demand Generation, Sales Management or Marketing in the IT Industry and Experience in Demand Generation in a Cloud environment extremely favourable
  • Proven team builder and motivator with previous experience in successful management of Managers and individual contributors
  • Excellent coaching and mentoring skills 
  • Strong understanding of “Inside” Business operations with an ability to understand and analyse the industry and the market.
  • Budgeting, forecasting & business planning experience.
  • Proven ability to align other departments within their organisations to deliver on BDG pipeline commitments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proven persuasive skills at the highest level essential
  • Fluency in English is essential and a second European language is favourable

Provides daily operations management of the inbound/outbound telemarketing call response and lead qualification functions. Develops and implements a comprehensive strategy that maximizes Oracle*s opportunities across all products and product lines.

Manages, through other managers, a team of telesales business development representatives for a territory/region. Provides operations management of inbound and outbound call response and lead qualification functions. Creates product, sales, and business function training programs. Oversees coordination of marketing (direct mail, advertising, etc.) activities with Marketing organization. Contributes to strategic and tactical planning for the division. Responsible for coaching, performance management, and career development of staff. Participates in the recruiting process and makes hiring decisions. Manages budget.

Experience qualifying prospects and customers; understanding of the sales cycle process. Strong leadership skills. Strong Oracle product knowledge. BA/BS preferred. Experience managing staff. Assist in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interact across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Able to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations important.
