Business Development Manager, Oracle for Startups

The Oracle Global Startup Ecosystem seeks to partner with startups, incubators, venture capital firms and community organizations to create an ecosystem of builders and innovators on the Oracle Cloud.

 

Your primary objectives and responsibilities will entail\:

 

Program Management\:

 

Develop relationships with the startup ecosystem including prominent startup companies of all sectors, venture capital funds, accelerators, incubators, angel investors and corporate venture funds and accelerators.

 

Monitor the cloud consumption of each startup in program and engage with noteworthy startups with high consumption.

 

Advocate for Oracle Cloud within the startup community, drive awareness and adoption.

 

Make recommendations to the marketing team regarding strategic sponsorship opportunities in EMEA.

 

Report all interactions with enrolled startups in NetSuite and monitor their progress throughout the program.

 

Serve as point-of-contact for EMEA startups enrolled in the Oracle Global Startup Ecosystem program.

 

Stakeholder Management / Partnerships

 

Develop partnerships with local accelerators, incubators, VCs, angels, investment community and ecosystem evangelists to recruit the most promising startups.

 

Build relationships with startups and all stakeholders surrounding the ecosystem, understanding their business and technical challenges and helping them throughout their journey.

 

Understand basic cloud architecture and how startups can benefit from Oracle cloud technology and services. Be aware of the entrepreneur’s journey to success (from idea creation, to validation, to funding and up until scaling up) and provide guidance and connections with mentors for specific topics.

Work is non-routine and complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in areas of specialization. Expected to contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 5 years of experience in one of the following fields\: business development and/or venture capital.

 

Partner with Oracle internal teams to connect qualified startups with opportunities such as\: mentoring, business opportunities, partnership opportunity, event exposure, prototyping, technical development.

 

Ecosystem Development, Communications and PR

 

Work closely with the Director of Communications and PR on communications and PR efforts.

Attend local meet-ups, events, and industry focused initiatives to drive a culture of thought leadership.

 

You are\:

 

An entrepreneurial driven individual with a demonstrable track record in the startup and/or venture capital community.

 

You will live and breathe technology and understand the changing trends of a particular industry or technology area, especially the benefits of Oracle cloud.

 

You will be able to think big and execute in detail managing multiple projects simultaneously.

 

You will be execution focused, organized and be able to deliver to tight deadlines.

 

You understand the benefits of cloud computing and are interested into emerging technologies (its use and the services behind them)

 

Desirable

 

You will have an existing network of tech startup mentors and VCs.

 

You will have been involved or run a startup of your own, or worked for a VC firm, startup or started your own company. 

 

You will have experience working with corporate companies within innovation teams.

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

 

Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

You will be expected to build relationship with startups and all stakeholders that surround the startup ecosystem, understand their business and technical challenges and assist them throughout their journey.

 

You are expected to drive awareness, and adoption of Oracle cloud technologies within the EMEA startup and VC community.

 

You will represent the Oracle Global Startup Ecosystem at Oracle marketing events, as well as third party marketing events.

 

You are expected to identify and execute strategic partnership opportunities within Oracle and outside of Oracle.

 

You are expected to build relationships with technical teams and other resources that can support the Oracle Global Startup Ecosystem.

Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
