Oracle Human Resources Information technology organization is looking for an experienced engineer to join our newly formed DevOps team with experience building and scaling services in a cloud environment. You will be working closely with the head of technical solution architect and the head of DevOps to identify and establish DevOps practices in the HRIT organization within Oracle.
You will establish configuration management, automate our infrastructure, implement continuous integration, implement monitoring for automated system health checks and train the team in DevOps best practices to achieve a continuously deployable system.
The responsibilities of a Cloud Automation Engineer are as follows;
- Provide software delivery operations
- Application release management support
- Coding and scripting, automated build and deployment processing
- Coding along with libraries and software development kits and integrate various components
- Design and implement monitoring, configuration management and reporting functions that will make a hands-off environment
- Automate and script away pain points on new or existing workflow
- Scale systems sustainably through mechanism like automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity
- Support, maintain and deploy team-supported infrastructure and documentation
- Define and document best practices and support procedures
- Manage a ticket queue of troubleshooting escalations, security vulnerability remediations and completing manual tasks that are not yet automated or require human touch
Requirements\:
- Bachelor's Degree in computer engineering or equivalent
- At least 4 years of experience in DevOps
- Working knowledge of a scripting / programming language (Bash, Python)
- Experience with configuration management tools\: Puppet, Chef, or Ansible
- Experience with tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, etc. to build automation, CI/CD, Self-Service pipelines
- Experience with containerization and scheduling, with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tooling/frameworks — e.g., Terraform
- Knowledge of web applications, architecture implementation (HTTP, Middleware, Micro-services etc)
- In-depth experience deploying and maintaining monitoring and logging tools Knowledge in HTML and client-side scripting libraries and framework (Javascript, Jquery, AngularJS, etc)
- Experience in cloud computing services e.g server side Javascript environment (NodeJS)
- Strong analytical skills to provide support on applications within scope
- Self-sufficient
and pro-active in sourcing information
Perform performance trend analysis and manage the server/network capacity. Propose client configuration and implement technical solutions to enhance and/or troubleshoot the system. Work with others to define, coordinate vendor purchase needs. Responsible for support documentation as well.
Job duties are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. May have project lead role. 5 years of related experience in a medium to large network distributed and computing environment. BS in Computer Science or related field.
