Senior Director Cloud Engineering, JAPAC - ISV

Cloud Engineering (CE) was established to engage with the customer throughout the cloud lifecycle, accelerate the achievement of their outcomes through the expedited move to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and drive rapid cloud adoption & continuous improvement to the customer’s cloud experience. 

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Director of Cloud Engineering to lead the JAPAC ISV Cloud Engineering team.   The role will primarily focus on leading a team of cloud architects and engineers dedicated to the ISV Ecosystem to migrate the customers’ applications and data to OCI, and to develop their next-generation SaaS offerings on OCI.

 

Role and Responsibilities:

Grow the Oracle hyperscale (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) business in JAPAC through maximizing participation from ISV and enabling their business outcome

• Formulate and execute a strategy to migrate ISV applications from on-premise or cloud deployments to OCI services, and maximize consumption of hyperscale offers, in partnership with sales leadership and BD teams.
• Gain trust from key ISV customers and contribute insights that influence the technology roadmaps and investments towards Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and away from key competitors.
• As a trusted customer advocate, help ISV key decision makers (C-levels, VP/Directors, product managers, architects) understand best practices around advanced cloud-based solutions, and how to migrate existing production workloads to the cloud and resulting benefits.
• Develop an enablement plan to transfer knowledge to ISVs on best practices to configure, manage, secure and scale ­­OCI services.
• Design, implement, maintain, review, and improve existing customer experience processes to ensure they align with customer needs and business outcomes.

• Support first-line managers in leading the broader technical teams solving ISV challenges and driving the adoption of OCI services in the ISV market segment.

Cross-LOB collaboration and engagement

• Build an excellent working relationship with regional sales leaders and related stakeholders, ensuring that Oracle’s and ISV customers' business outcomes are identified and achieved.
• Ensure the ISV team builds effective collaboration with the necessary cross-LoB Oracle teams to advance the ISV customers forward in the Cloud lifecycle.
• As a leader, represent Cloud Engineering at a regional and global level with other lines of business to ensure the JAPAC voice is recognised to develop new and innovative solutions for our customers.

 

Skills and Profile:

This is a leadership position that requires strong strategic thinking and skills, the ability to drive towards superior outcome in collaboration with ISVs, external clients, internal colleagues, and a cooperative ability to engage and lead the business constructively

• 15+ years of experience in customer-facing roles focused on customer growth.
• Minimum 10 years of experience managing technical sales teams (pre- and/or post-sales), with proven ability to hire, mentor and grow high performers.
• Ability to create and communicate a compelling vision transcending boundaries and titles to bring people together and solve complex challenges internally and externally.
• Proven experience in developing and executing strategic programs that grow hyperscaler business through customer acquisitions and consumption of cloud offers.
• Expertise working for or with hyperscalers; e.g., Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, GCP and OCI.
• Experience building or migrating SaaS applications and PaaS cloud services on any of the above platforms is a definite plus.
• Demonstrated ability to discuss key trends and insights, leveraging them in driving executive decision-making discussions with customers.
• Ability to operate with a balance of empathy and diplomacy to move mountains and identify trade-offs in a complex environment.
• Exceptional speaking and presentation skills - Formal presentations, white boarding, large and small group presentation.
