We are looking for a Cloud Fullstack Engineer/Secure Global Desktop to take a lead role in the development of web applications to deliver advanced services in Oracle Cloud.  You will be expected to make a big contribution to the specification, design, and implementation of web components.  The work is the leading edge; you will keep current with the latest developments in web technologies, pushing against boundaries to deliver increased functionality.  There is a strong emphasis on software robustness, quality, and performance.  Collaboration is an essential skill and you will actively participate in design discussions and code reviews with colleagues.  There are many opportunities to expand your skills to other parts of the product stack.

Candidates should have:

- Graduate or post-graduate qualification in Computer Science or a closely related subject
- 7 years or more experience in commercial software development
- Understanding and appreciation of software structure with a strong design aesthetic
- Experience with frameworks like React, Oracle JET, jQuery 
- Strong skills in HTML, JavaScript, Python, and web technologies
- Knowledge of HTTP and web socket networking protocols
- Experience creating and using web-based services with RESTful APIs
- Strong analytical and debugging skills, with attention to detail
- A consistent and methodical approach to solving problems
- Good verbal and written communication skills, in English
- Flexibility, enthusiasm, drive and self-motivation
- The desire and ability to learn quickly
- The confidence to work independently and be comfortable working in a team

 

Knowledge of and interest in the following would be advantageous:

- Java and Python
- DevOps skills, such as Git, Jenkins, Ansible, and Kubernetes
- Experience developing products using security and authentication protocols, like TLS, SSH, and SAML
- Agile development methodologies, such as Scrum and test-driven development 
- Modern development tools

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
