Opportunity Description
As we expand the team further, we are seeking a Cloud Sales Director for the Commercial Sector, with proven experience in at least two of the following;
- Technology direct sales management & leadership experience
- Commercial Sector sales experience
- Cloud IaaS / PaaS experience (portfolio includes autonomous database, analytics, warehousing, data lakes, VM, containers, AI, ML) OR consulting/delivery experience OR SaaS Application Solution experience also welcome.
The role will require someone who can manage, inspire, and lead a team selling into the Commercial Sector across South Africa.
What You’ll Do
- Keep the Client at the center of what we do for both existing and prospective new Clients.
- Recruit, onboard, manage, support and lead a sales team of approx. 7+ people focused on Client’s outcomes & success working alongside technical and partner teams.
- Motivate, deliver, and challenge team and customers
- Build internal relationships to ensure x-lob work amongst your team and offer a better overall solution
- Promote and evangelise Oracle capabilities to C-level audiences
- Develop relationships and collaborate with our partners to define, recommend, and drive sales strategy
- Develop and execute a sales plan that provides territory coverage
- Develop appropriate sales programs and solutions; maintain up-to-date competitive information and compile regional success stories
- Meet with senior customer contacts across South Africa to build credibility and develop lasting relationships
- Develop & drive go-to-market campaigns by working closely with internal marketing specialists
- Drive account planning, customer/market analysis, and strategy sessions
- Prepared to travel as needed (ZA Client base).
Required Skills/Experience

- Experience in selling solutions to customers and taking innovative ideas
- Proven track record in a sales-driven organisation, selling technology-related products and services
- Solid written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Creative with strong problem-solving skills and an ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to work well as part of an extended sales team
- Knowledge of Oracle products or similar preferred
- Fluency in English
- Degree helps, but attitude and drive are more important
- Leader and self-motivated
- Must be high on integrity and values.

Overall responsibility for the regions sales, third party alliances, and customer satisfaction. Develops and implements a comprehensive strategy that maximizes Oracle's opportunities across all products and product lines.Manages and develops a team of sales representatives including recruiting, hiring, and training new reps on the Oracle sales process. May manage a Regional Manager or Branch Manager. Sells and promotes the sales of Oracle products to customers including negotiating price, other concessions and terms and conditions of the sale. Participates in strategic and tactical planning for the division. Builds working relationships with license, consulting and education field managers in the respective territory to develop joint account plans. Develops and execute a territory plan to maximize revenue. Generates and achieves monthly territory forecasts, and accurately predicts revenue on a monthly basis. Manages escalation. Conducts weekly progress meetings with sales team.
Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations important. 5 or more years sales or sales management experience within technology industry. Ability to hire and train new sales representatives. Ability to resolve customer satisfaction issues. Demonstrated leadership skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills, ability to present to large and small audiences. Ability to negotiate price, other concessions and terms and conditions. Strong quantitative, analytical and conflict resolution abilities.
