A Senior Sales Consultant works closely with Oracle Sales to develop new business and position Oracle’s based solutions to solve customer business problems with Oracle technology in both the Cloud as well as on premise.


It is the responsibility of the Senior Sales Consultant to bridge the gap between business and technology. As a Senior Sales Consultant, you will be asked to articulate the value of Oracle’s technology solutions to C-level individuals. You will be asked to combine a deep understanding of technology, applications, industry best practices, business processes and architectural patterns to drive IT transformations that meet customer business objectives.


Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to\:

  • Support the sales cycle for Cloud and on premise technology solutions that fit customer needs within the U.S. Federal Government.

  • Provide technical leadership during the sales cycle and drive the technical aspects for an opportunity.

  • Take ownership of the technical relationship with prospective customers.

  • Drive the initial evaluation and technical qualification for opportunities involving Oracle technology products within the U.S. Federal Government.

  • Identify customer requirements through discovery sessions and define appropriate solutions that maximize the use of Oracle technology.

  • Lead and execute with a Cloud first mind set helping customers realize benefits of an Oracle Cloud based architecture.

  • Create and deliver technical presentations to our customers at all levels within an organization.

  • Build, modify and enhance product demonstrations that clearly show how Oracle technology is used to meet customer needs.

  • Coordinate the technical delivery strategy to ensure customer expectations are being met by the most appropriate resource in a timely manner.

  • Enhance customer satisfaction by helping customers leverage all of the appropriate Oracle resources (support, education, consulting services, etc.) available to them.

  • Maintain technical competence by keeping abreast of new product enhancements, product best practices and procedures.

!|!Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology/application to client business. Facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks; provision of support throughout the sell.

As a Senior Sales Consultant you will be responsible for providing presales technical / functional support to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction with minimal supervision. Acts as a technical resource for less experienced Sales Consultants. Develop and deliver high quality standard Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Present and articulate advanced product features and benefits, product future direction and overall Oracle solutions. Design, validate, and present Oracle software solutions to include advanced product concepts, future direction, and 3rd party complimentary products. Develop and manage reference sites through high quality technical, professional client relationships.

Job duties are varied and complex, needing independent judgment. May have project lead role. 5 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 5 years relevant computer applications or database/tools. Demonstrated proficiency in one multi-user operating system. Through knowledge of system and application design. Strong verbal and written communication skills\: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems with accounts in complex technical environments. Ability to travel as needed. BS degree or equivalent; advanced degree desirable.
