Job Description

The JAPAC Cloud Engineering Center of Excellence (CoE) is a new regional organisation across Japan and Asia Pacific whose role is to accelerate consumption of Oracle Cloud Services by providing a world class customer experience on the Oracle Cloud. Customers will have access to cutting edge and deep technical subject matter expertise and solutions.

Within this organization, we are looking for an exceptional candidate with deep expertise in data engineering to join the Innovations Center. The Innovations Center operates with the speed and attitude of a start-up, but with the scale of an enterprise. At every level, our engineers have a significant technical and business impact designing and building innovative new systems to power our customer’s business critical applications.

We are looking for a UI/UX Engineer to turn complex software and processes into easy-to-use products for our customers and employees. UI/UX Designer/Developer responsibilities include gathering user requirements, designing graphical elements, and building rich web applications. To be successful in this role, you should have 3-5 years of working experience with design software and wireframe tools. If you also have a portfolio of professional design projects that includes work with desktop/web/mobile applications, we’d like to meet you.

 

Responsibilities

  • Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and engineers
  • Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps
  • Design graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets
  • Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look like
  • Create original graphic designs (e.g. images, sketches and tables)
  • Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)
  • Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback
  • Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors and images
  • Provide timely status updates and other reports as required

  • Create visually compelling representations of the solution's high-level interaction, navigation, and organization design (i.e., concept models)
  • Develop visual representations of the organizational structure, hierarchy, and relationships of screens in a site (i.e., site maps)
  • Develop visual representations of the interactions between the user and the functional modules in the solution
  • Conduct and analyze C-level stakeholder interviews to understand key success factors for a project or pursuit Customer segments and behaviors across multiple industries
  • Practical experience of agile delivery, including running cross-functional squads, overseeing creation of new design direction and/or development and implementation of digital products and services
  • Effectively communicate thought processes and ideas to inspire and lead other squad members to turn these ideas into engaging, intuitive and usable experiences as part of a digital product or service
  • You are comfortable engaging with senior client stakeholders, strategists, designers and technology teams to workshop and define future digital experiences
  • You are comfortable in a highly agile and iterative environment where you translate business concepts into journeys, screen flows and interactions
  • Good knowledge in frontend and middle-layer web technologies

 

Requirements

  • At least 3+ years of UI/UX design experience, familiar with design guidelines and processes
  • Have good logical thinking, analyzing and problem-solving skills
  • Have good communication skills, familiar with user research
  • Working knowledge of the following technologies and software: Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, Axure RP 9

  • Good knowledge in Web Technologies: HTML/CSS/JS/JQUERY and PHP/JSP/NodeJS/AngularJS/ReactJS
  • Passion for leveraging design/technology to help solve healthcare issues and improve the lives of both medical professionals and patients
  • A Bachelor Degree in any design field or outstanding design skills
  • Full-time experience as UX/interaction designer and/or Frontend Developer
  • Strong portfolio of work demonstrating design thinking, design process, and solutions for web and mobile applications
  • Proficient in crafting UX artifacts (e.g. user journeys, wireframes, prototypes) using a variety of UX and design tools (e.g. Figma, Sketch, Invision, Proto.io, Adobe)
  • Proficient in undertaking user research, user interviews, concept and usability testing
